    Z1=e30

    Soooo I am watching wheeler dealers and they are doing a Z1. IMHO it's an e30. Discuss. Also I want one.

    Yep same engine and front suspension from a 325i. I think its cool how easily the body panels can be removed and replaced with a different color.

      There's five Z1s over here in Colorado, I believe. I would love to have one in schwarz and do an S54 swap.

        The Z1 is all based on E30 mechanicals, kept the development and production costs down. Cool little cars, very rarely seen in the UK.

          Yep, two at drive 4 corners 2014. It also has the same block as the 325iX. The aux shaft spins opposite direction of the rwd e30s.

          No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

            Man, I'm glad there's such a big car scene around here. Gotta love it.

                Love the looks of the Z1 so much more than the Z3.

                Now... could the rear end of the Z1 be used to convert the e30 to a Z-axle (aka. e36 rear suspension?)

                Weird that the Z1 had e30 front suspension and e36 rear, while the Z3 had e36 front suspension and e30 rear?!

                  there's probably space for it to fit, but the mounting points are way different. also it would be extremely expensive/difficult to source all the parts.

                    Z1s are cool until you open the hood.

                    Nuff said.

                        It's such a cool car....then they dropped that pig under the hood.

                        Would have been great with an M50....fit the character of the car more, IMO.

                          I'd love to drive a Z1 and see how nimble it is. Thing is probably a go-kart!
