Calm down big guy..Have you ever installed a set of ST springs on your ix? H&R springs are rated at 1.2-1.3 while the STs are rated at 1.6..so it's not a huge difference

Thanks man, its a few different shades of red...tailgate has rust...but it will get there.

It has billy's and I assume H&R springs on it.

Not really no...same grey interior as yours, however I've replaced the front seats with grey houndstooth sport seats. Not a perfect match but will do for now.

I don't have to install them to know there's not enough travel on stock length strut housings to lower 1.6" without poor ride quality. even H&Rs are barely adequate with Konis; Bilstein HDs need the bump stops cut. It still only leaves about 1 1/4" of travel.

Im sure fresh will be replacing the struts as well. Lowering an e30 is nothing new on here...there's a million threads on it. Ride quality is sometimes a preference and hard to judge from car - car or person - person. Different strokes for different folks scenario. No point bickering about it.

I was pretty impressed the first time I drove my touring with the classic billy & H&R set up. Still not 100% they are H&R's. I would certainly never say the ride quality was poor.

H&Rs work fine. but they are on the edge. They will bottom out on the bump stops a significant amount of time in normal driving. Go much lower, and the bump stops get pounded.

I drove it pretty aggressively for a few days...not once did I feel it bottom out or hit the bump stops....

Enough bickering about lowering an IX....theres literally a million threads on this...yes specifically IX's nando...google is your friend.

Lets see some more IX TOURINGS :) and stop pooping on this thread
