I have one in the m3 and I just leave it in the pass seat or the rear seat. Never moves around, even when throw I throw the car around corners.

Just make sure the one you buy is rated to handle gasoline fires.

I'm not sure where to buy this part and it may be too hoon but I honestly don't notice it, its situated behind the e-brake. PO's funny sharpie shit and I added the m20 love. There is a plastic thing that grabs the neck of the extinguisher securely and holds it in place with no movement

I Bet you could fit on in the armrest of the rear seat if you hollowed it out. Then you could flip it up and not see it, but still flip it down for easy access.

Had two engine fires recently. A couple guys put out the second one with your standard extinguisher (a, b, maybe c) and it corroded the hell out of everything under the hood. I'd look into a halon one if you really care to save your electronics.

If your car is on fire, I think corrosion is the last thing on your mind. The whole point is to stop the fire from claiming the entire car.

            Good point, though.

I put the first fire out with water and there was very little damage. The one with the extinguisher ruined everything. I wouldn't spray another one on my engine unless it was a halon.

see the difference of how stubborn a hot surface fire is - it's a big change.
This, for sure. The CO2 version helps a lot with a 'small spark, lots of heat' because it
gets the heat AND the oxygen out.

Because those damned powder ones are great if you're gonna die, but suck if it's just
a small fire under the fuse box.

now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves
