Do you get any compliments on your car?

had two separate incidents this morning, asking if i'd sell the car.

last Friday I was in NYC, and 3 ppl in traffic asked what yr the car was & complimented it.

Sometimes I feel like I'm driving a Ferrari lol

I haven't gotten any compliments but I do live in Northern VA where if you don't own a 2010+ vehicle, you are a peasant.

This. I was reading this thread trying to figure out where all these compliments are happening. In the Baltimore/DC area they pretty much ignore. I more likely get people racing around me.

Although, a few weeks ago I was driving out a parking lot and a mom was helping her small kid out the car. I heard him excitedly say: "LOOK MOM at that cool car!"

maybe it's the diminutive size, relatively, of the E30 compared to it's modern land-barge brothers, that makes girls call it cute? I get that all the time too.

This middle aged mom stopped me at the grocery store and was like WHAT YEAR IS THIS? IT'S SO ADORABLE!

I had never had anyone really tell me that so it caught me off guard haha

Even my lowly IX got a compliment at the gas station today from some guy that thought it was in great shape and used to autocross E30's. He had a lit cigarette at the gas pump so I didn't stick around too long. Afterwards it got a thumbs-up from a guy driving an E36 vert. Maybe this car is not as ugly as I let on.

Recently had my car into a local transmission shop for a rebuild(they build drag cars and track cars), and when I went to get an update on how it's coming along, the owner told me they had contemplated calling me to have the car towed away because hey have had 7 people this week come into the shop asking about the car, and if it was for sale.

He said they cannot get any work done on it.

I get sketched out when people give the S4 attention. Had a guy approach me the other day about it and took a picture. Part of me wondered if he was getting the plate numbers.

Hopefully I'm just paranoid. Which may be good because I've been looking into two-way alarms.

Honestly I just think that's a compliment, I've had girls call my Grand Prix cute and that isn't small, the worst part is, it's a piece of shit the I spent less on than my 89 325ix and it gets a lot more compliments..
