it's like audi heard about how where the starters are on northstars, figured all the cool kids started jamming shit under their intake manifolds and wanted to join in the fun

We are all hear because of the love of machines. How can you hate on a Twin Turbo v6 that is capable of 500AWHP on stock internals, with a 6 speed bulletproof transmission and AWD? If you say that without the Audi emblem 90% of you fuckers would be watering at the mouth.

Older sedan with 20v and AWD though, I'd rock that for sure. Mostly just for the noise.
Maybe I should swap one into a E30?

You should try one, best 8K I have ever spent.

And for the record, I have put 30k on mine since October and while it hasn't been without some issues, it has reliably gotten me to work each and every day.

And no, I ain't mad. I'll purchase a Candlelit massage by none other than Slammin' himself for each of you fuckers if you keep me around with my blaspheming mouth.

I have no regrets getting out of my E30 and into my B5S4, looking back I don't really miss it at all now.

The e34 535I 5-speed is a different story, that was the one that got away.

But yea, the longer I have my S4 the more I love it. Haven't been that way.... Ever.

yep, S30 would be a great replacement (but parts are harder to come by... crack free dashes are like a grand)

I'd also agree that an S2k or FRS are similarly focused, light, rwd, extremely fun cars... but a bit more expensive and 4 bangers. I would buy an s2k today if I had space and money for another car.

I feel an old 911 is also a great car with a similar appeal, but again, pricier and more focused.

What about a Datsun 240Z? I haven't had experience but know people that have them and love them. Other than it being prone to rust. It ticks almost all those boxes.

For a fun, fairly new and relatively inexpensive front-engined RWD two door, I'd be giving one of those a serious look.
It'll be a suitable E30 replacement in 25 years when the same people who buy E30s now can afford toyobarus.
