I did the routine T-belt, WP, oil changes etc. Then it blew a HG, spent 2k, and did all the work myself aside from the decking and rebuild of the head. Since then all I have had is cooling issues. I have just now done every part of the cooling system. Thermostat, radiator, hoses. ETC. Today I go to pop the hood to check the coolant leve, hood release cable breaks. FML. SOOO long story short I have a chance to get into an Omni GLH with 100k on it for about 6k. would you consider doing that? What are your thoughts. Seems they need an inter-cooler upgrade, any thing else you all know about? It already has the big brake upgrade. Its rust free with a respray.

Cliff notes: I am sick of my 05 civic and am considering buying a GLH

If you're going to own a money pit, own a money pit worth owning damnit. Come on in, the horsepower and torque is fine!

    But also, this:

I have a love-hate relationship with my S4. I'm barely a week into Stage 3 and I currently hate it. I'll fall in love with it while I'm away though, distance makes the heart grow fonder and stuff.

Lets resurrect this dead thread. Hood would have to go immediately. I know fail for FWD, but whatever.

Would be great for half the price and no turbo.

That thing probably sucks to drive.

the ford is pretty ugly but they're not bad cars. fairly quick. a little bit of torque steer, but handle pretty well.

I wouldn't want to drive one, but I'd take that over the Omni lol.

                  Couldn't be more wrong.

a few years ago I was looking at a 5 door hatch version as a dd. In stock form it could easily out handle a stock e30. The weight and handling are spectacular considering it's a lowly little Ford.

I have a friend who swears by "foci" (plural I think).

Can't say I've heard him complain about them besides being bland.

The SVT would certainly be more fun.

After owning 3 in the family ranging from 03-07 I'm pretty well-versed in them. (non svt's).

One of the things I hate is the alternator placement. It sits near the back of the engine where it's almost directly above the exh mani. Obviously it's lifespan is about 100k miles at most before it craps out. And replacement isn't very easy as you have to pull the passenger side drive shaft.

Aside from that, it's mostly maintenance.

When considering the Focus, a standard 3,4 or 5 door (not incl the wagon models) can easily be upgraded to SVT handling with a very cost effective kit avail online. It's for 00-05 models, but there's an adapter kit that lets you use it up to the 09 or 11 models.

The Ford Performance SVT suspension kit M-3000-SVT lowers your 2000-2005 Focus by 1/2" improving your car's looks and handling using OE factory quality parts.

Best thing about the Focus? being able to walk into almost any parts store/dealership and know you can get parts for 1) far cheaper than for a BMW and 2) that they'll almost always have the parts no more than a day away

Worst thing? they can be pretty bland looking. But considering the pros, I can live with that

I agree, a STOCK SVT focus was a fun car.

But having owned 400whp fwd cars, they all suck to drive. This one listed is 340 and probably can barely use it. Good luck accelerating out of a corner.
