    Freight shipper for seats

    Hey,

Anyone have any good freight companies I should call, I have my seats ready to go they need to be shipped from New York to Chicago.

UPS Freight is out of control (which I expected) so what are my options?

I've heard of quite a few people shipping seats by Greyhound.

Any chance you have a Fastenal in your area? They have a program called 3PL that is generally for shipping engines but they may do seats too if they're palletized. You just drop them off at your local Fastenal and the buyer picks them up at their local Fastenal. I found it to be really cheap compared to most freight service.

You can also try companies like Old Dominion, YRC, ABF Freight, etc. They are much more affordable for LTL service that UPS Freight. UPS and FedEx is notoriously expensive for LTL.

well, there are already a million threads about this if you were to search.

      for fronts:
go buy two garment boxes from uhaul. cut a piece of 1/2' plywood to fit in the bottom of each box. take the head rests off the seat. put a seat in each garment box. ship them via fed ex ground.

      for rear:
go to a furniture store and raid their dumpster for really big pieces of cardboard. wrap both bench portions together in the cardboard and tape the shit out of it. also ship via fed ex ground.

Greyhound is probably the cheapest option. Never heard bad reviews of it.

A second for Fastenal, as long as it fits on a pallet they're cheap, but slow.

Amtrak has cheap freight. Also bikeflights is good too.

                  greyhound.

no experience with the other options mentioned but I've had multiple good experiences with greyhound. cheap and surprisingly quick.

I shipped a front bumper (rx8, so large) to TX from MD. I think it was $50 and took 2 days.
