Guilty Pleasures - Cars you shouldn't like but do anyway.

What cars do you like that you feel you shouldn't?

Why do you feel that you shouldn't like it(bad culture surrounding car, ugly, poor performance, just generally crap)?

What is it you like about them?

For me, it is the older VS generation Commodore Ute.

The cars are actually pretty decent but unfortunately being so cheap and abundant in Australia means they're the white trash car of choice. Way too many Commodores are auto V6's sporting chevie bow ties, and 20x5 chromies.

The practical nature of a ute is something I need and I've always really liked the shape of the VS model utes. They have an abundance of cheap performance/tuning options due to being a domestic vehicle sold in large volume and can make pretty reasonable cars for any kind of use when set up right. Base models came with the Buick Series 2 3800 V6(Holden Ecotec) which take to a turbo quite well, and the performance models were fitted with Holden 5.0 V8's. Lots of engine mount kits available from LS1 to 2JZ to RB25.

Yes, I've just bought one. Might even throw a build thread up when I decide to do something with it.

Mini Cooper S. I am on my second one and can't seem to find another car that checks all the same boxes (except for styling, I would prefer a more masculine appearance in a car).
I never would have thought of owning one, until I drove one at a dealer and had an immediate appreciation for the car's handling.

So what if it's a chick car...

              Speedster replica widebody

RCR SLC kit car....Only 40K for a roller, all you need to provie is a engine and trans. So about 70k for a supercar you can build in your grage.

There's a whole "dajiban" scene/culture with these things in Japan. These are full sized by the looks but I've seen them do mini vans too.

1997 Sequoia Green MK3 Jetta Jazz. My first car and was a 5 speed manual. Bought it for $1800 and put maybe $5000 to keep it running for about 4 years till my roommate blew the tranny. Such a pain in the ass car, but I love it.

I have a guilty pleasure for Kei cars.

I'd love to get my hands on a Suzuki Cappuccino, Suzuki Alto Works RSR, or a Honda Beat. They're such tiny, fun looking cars.

I love Honda and their high performance motors. I loathe the culture. I think the cars themselfves deserve more respect than given. some builds I've seen are outstanding. and those motors can revv like a muther... great gas, light weight, reliable motors.
I'd say if they were rwd, they'd own the industry.
would definitely like to own one, one day.
