    value of a 1998 318ti

I had another thread about searching for a car to replace my honda, which I a tired of. I had many generaly unrealistic options I posted about. Here is something newer, that may be a possible DD. See CL add. Its been for sale for some time, and is about 2k over market value. I emaied them and they had no reason for the high price that they stated, and basicly said, come seee it. What do you all say. Its one of 2 near me for hours on CL

If it is THAT clean, 5K isn't terrible considering miles and the fact that it is a 5 speed. Again, this is in comparison to MA market where rust is a problem you have not heard about in your neck of the woods. The color is not the best for a dude, but hey, nothing a wrap can't fix

I dont think 4 cylinder E36s are the way to go.

Although I could see the appeal once they are redone:

I'd pass, and cut through the chase: well documented 99 M3

      They are still reasonably price.

          $2000. 1999 318ti M sport.

Has 310k, headliner is falling down, central locks are not functioning, needs front end stuff (control arms etc)

          The good:

          New oil filter housing gaskets
          New plugs
          New air filter
          New trans mounts
          New H&R race springs
New right rear wheel speed sensor
New fenders, Mtech bumper and grille panel all repainted hellrot (old stuff was really chipped etc)
          Bilstein sports
          Racing dynamics exhaust
          Racing dynamics strut bar

It's a great commuter/ beater and gets over 30mpg. Ana and I have 12 cars and need to purge.

I'd get the '98 with the better m44 engine.

That's too much. 5K for a base model, look for a sport 5 spd or a 6 cylinder swapped one. There are quite a few fs right now on 318ti.org

Sadly, many of those are sold. I am going to scour their F/s section though. Thanks for the tip

Yup. They are pretty unusual to start with, then add time and unlove...

Around here, when they do show up, they seem to move for $2500- 4k, but sit
                            if they're much more.

I like the earlier M42- for the completely illogical reason that it doesn't have rockers.

I know nothing about these cars over all. I like the red cars interior/price but the green cars 1 owner low miles.
