                  It's a drag engine. 2100 hp NA.

Check out the biggest big-block on the planet! It measures at 1,005.8ci and has an unreal 5.220-inch bore and 5.875-inch stroke! Pictures and further details can be found at Popular Hot Rodding Magazine.

Wow. NA, so that's for a specific class? Can you imagine getting 2100hp out of something without a blower? Look at the bottom of the block and the main bearing caps on that thing.

When he's talking earlier about Merlin-based big blocks, is he actually talking about the airplane engine? Same dimensions? Or is someone just using the name?

A 917 motor being assembled in Bruce Canepa's shop, in what looks like a clean room.

I didn't expect to follow a 917 engine, but whatever. We got the rebuilt Twin Cam in the Cortina for last weekend's Lime Rock Historic Festival and I wanna show it off!

Couple outside shots for good measure:

The similarity in dimensions to a 2002 and E30 continue to amaze me.

Fun fact: I ran consistent 1:05s at Lime Rock this year, which was enough to put away an 800hp 1977 NASCAR Olds Cutlass by 8 seconds in the Monday race!

                                Well this is the place!

Is that engine a Ford block and a Lotus head? I don't know the history of that engine. Plus, it looks like it sits nice and low in the chassis.
