My vote is: Ship them back at your expense and get a full refund (or maybe he'll split the shipping costs with your since it's not a small amount)

You can document all you want about the wheels, but some chick is going to look at the case for all of 10 seconds before making a decision - and with how nice they look, it could bite you in the ass - although paypal almost always sides with the buyer. So I would play it safe and do a "Item significantly not as described" return for refund. Otherwise you could get stuck with the wheels.

I actually don't think the seller is being unreasonable here. He isn't willing to issue a partial refund because it would surpass the amount he has in materials into the wheels. From his response, however, he hasn't eliminated the possibility of a full refund as that would give him the ability to fix the issues and then resell them.

Rather than fighting for a partial refund, you should just fight for a full refund, send the wheels back and get your money. That way, he isn't out for the value of the materials that went into the wheels and you aren't out the money spent on them. You may need to eat the shipping costs, but that's a small percentage of the total you will recoup.

He may have actively lied about condition or he may have not realized, you can't actually know, so what you should do is fight for the scenario that gets the situation corrected with the least amount of pain inflicted and time wasted for yourself, simply get a full refund, it's much easier than arguing how much the wheels are devalued based on the defects that they have. Paypal will be much more willing to do this rather than issue a partial refund.

You honestly should absolutely be either sending them back for a full refund or should be getting a partial refund and keeping them. With all those issues, they are not what was described, and the seller clearly did not disclose all the issues they have. I hope PayPal does the right thing here and sides with the buyer here.

Partial refund? Dude you should be asking for a full refund.

Also ask all the questions before dropping 3k on wheels. It's partly your fault for not asking those questions until after buying them.

id be sending them back, getting a full refund and buying replicas. They look exactly the same and don't have weird filled and drilled stud holes. My Centre caps sit flusher than those and still have an embossed BBS logo.

If he ardvertised them as "Genuine BBS wheels" then you should definitely be able to get a refund. As others have said though, with this much $ it's even more important to ask and make sure everything is legit even though it would be expected of such an apparent caliber of wheels that they are mint.

But they aren't fake, they are legit BBS that have been redrilled. Being redrilled doesn't make them fake. He states the change of pcd on another set he's selling so he's not exactly hiding it.

As for caps not fitting, usually over spray will keep them from sitting flush but
for that kind of monies I would expect them to be done correctly.

those wheels look pretty, but after reading all of your arguments, i do agree this seller is pretty sketchy. i like to deal with people who are of their word. i don't get the impression this applies to this guy. at the very least, the re drill should have been disclosed. why didn't he test fit all the caps? i certainly would have done this at the very least.

send them back for a full refund and go buy another set from someone who isn't a lying dick.
