That wasn't clear earlier in the thread, specifically since Luke mentioned that she didn't know what car she has because she didn't know her rear seats fold down.

Also, the lady says the box looks different from the 2 e46 variants posted earlier, but she hasn't provided any pictures to show the box she received is different.

The lady also hasn't posted fitment pictures from the trunk to show that the box isn't installed correctly. She's really done a piss-poor job of making her case.

Regardless, I'm sure someone else would buy the box and she could ship it directly to the new buyer. Then nobody is out any money.

Its more complex that that, our E4610 Coupe jig got destroyed in a small flood at our shop.

Bottom of a 6 foot tall stack, the E3012 jig was ruined too.

We found a test car to use to make a new one, the car got wrecked.

      This is all verified.

Still waiting on another E46 to model with, she won't wait.

      Closing SOON!

She would still be out around $100 in shipping costs, so that's not really true.

Actually she has provided pics, they are posted in the thread, its pretty obvious and Luke never disputed that the box was wrong, only how she handled it.

            This is how it works:
            1) New buyer pays Luke for the box and the cost includes shipping.
            2) Luke sends the shipping costs to the lady.
            3) Lady takes funds from Luke and uses them to ship box to the new buyer.

This solves the situation because the lady wants a refund or a new box, and neither will happen until she gives up her current box. This gets her to give up the box she currently has and the new buyer effectively pays the shipping. This allows Luke to close the paypal dispute and have the refund processed, or Luke can ship her the correct box on his dime.

But would this box fit correctly in another car, or was the box built incorrectly to begin with? Can you sell the box she currently possesses to someone else and just have her ship the box to the new buyer as I described above?

              1. The box is wrong
              2. Luke has no money due to her incessant harassment
              3. She lost her paypal dispute because she won't send it back

Look, how about this: how about 4 of you step up and buy a box and amp rack. Ill use 1/4 of each sale to pay her back, and I'll give her money back.

Oh, and lets don't forget, the dude who started this thread still has my products and my money: I'm out $650 from that dude alone.

I'm have an online business and after reading this thread it is indeed a shitshow.

If the highlighted parts that you just posted are true, then what you are asking is no different than a modified pyramid scheme to get your past debt issues covered. This is not how you run a business.

And just how do you expect 4 people to place an order, if this is the followup customer service they will receive if something goes wrong?

I've eaten plenty of shipping costs to get things sorted out right with a customer. If your positions were reversed, how would YOU want to have this issue resolved? That's all you have to understand.

Huh, like I already said in a post several pages back I already reversed the chargeback (on Saturday 5/6/16) and I called them again that day when you stated in a post that you didn't have your money to which, again, they said the charge back was already reversed.

Not that I don't believe you but is there anyway to show proof (maybe in PayPal) that it was reversed, removing your account number and stuff.

That way it would just end this back and forth.

+1 to Fresh TD's post above me.
Agreed. It's now been 6 months and Luke has not 'fixed' this issue even in the slightest. Luke has the $375 and I have the improper box ready to ship back to him if he would simply send me a prepaid shipping label.

I've asked luke for either: 1.) a refund, or 2.) a correct box.

He's chosen to keep the $375 and publicly said I should continue to keep waiting beyond 6 months. I would be happy to have the correct box....but the 1/2 year wait is unfair (he continues to service new customers just fine), and he is demanding I pay for returning a box he incorrectly made.

I'm totally at Luke's mercy and he doesn't seem to have any for me. He does, however, have numerous social media comments with vial language towards me for not wanting to put up with this poor customer service, including begging his customers to come to his defense. It's sad, really. I feel bad for Luke. What am I supposed to do? Walk away as though I have $375 to 'donate' to Luke's struggles?

I'm not sure how one defends this. This is wrong no matter what anyone else has to say about their good dealings with him.

I only spoke up publicly, because the phone I had for him was disconnected and he quit answering any emails. He simply quit communicating BEFORE I spoke up publicly. I tried reaching him privately....he cut off communication.

I like your work and have supported you in the past. I even did the deal where we sent money for discounts at a later date an didnt bother to use it because I just wanted to support you. But this right here is just ridiculous. I dont for one second believe that there is not something you could sell or give up for a few weeks like maybe not eat out for a month to make up for the $100 to give her to ship it back to you. Go detail someones car, mow someones lawn, shit there are plenty of ways you could quickly make a $100 to cover this. At this point I am at a loss for words and find it sad to see that you have reached this point. You are being beyond childish and I was going to actually buy some more products from you but at this point you have turned me away from buying from you again. If you cannot see that you are in the wrong then I am not surprised that your business got to the point it has. I wanted to stand up for you and gas, I really did but it is sad seeing your responses.

Shit like this just make me shake my head. I will not be taking any of your products out of my car and smashing them because I WORKED FUCKING HARD IN ORDER TO PAY FOR THEM. Your sense of entitlement is dumbfounding

                              Solution

I'm going to step up with a proposal that, in lieu of making everyone happy, makes everyone not pissed.

                              1. There are personal factors with Luke that are nobody's business, but simply serve to explain his behavior. He concedes that the box is not up to his quality standards and will be replaced. He needs an e46 "mule" in order to make one, and indeed not having a mule is the root reason the one in question is not acceptable. He has a car on the way, at which point he can make a perfect box.

                              2. The mother on the East Coast has personal factors that are nobody's business, but simply serve to explain her behavior. I think it is safe to say that if the son had the perfect Lukebox in his car, he would be perfectly satisfied and so would Mom.

                              3. Return-shipping this box wouldn't accomplish anything for anyone except to provide UPS with another $125. Refunding the money contingent on shipping it back would leave the boy without tunes. Everyone knows the only time a BMW is to be without tunes is if it is a cabriolet with freeflow headers and exhaust which are musical unto themselves. (OK, OK, I digress...)

                              So the solution is this:

Mom and son sit tight for awhile longer and he makes do with the box he has, which I believe it was mentioned sounds fine, just isn't up to standards expected of both buyer and seller. He is to crank the tunes if there is anymore complaining, to override the noise.

Luke gets his mule, builds a box to perfection and ships it over there at his own expense. Son installs it and has a big smile on his face because it's perfect. Since he has carefully removed the old one, he tosses that on the East Coast market cheap and sells it to someone who can't afford a perfect new one but would be ecstatic to have one that still sounds good.

Son takes mom out for a nice dinner with the money and ice cream afterwards because everyone knows ice cream cures everything.

They got what they ordered, however late. Luke has his integrity, which despite what anyone says is a high priority for him.

See how easy that was? Can't we all just get along?

Well there is the problem. For whatever reason, you shipped a bad box, so you should eat the cost. That's just how business works.
