Luke's pics here prove the point: the box Luke sent does NOT have any sort of front protrusion area at the center (where the sub/port holes are). Notice these two e46 boxes (both fixed and folding versions) have such forward protrusions (perhaps made of foam just underneath the carpet) in order to seal in the bass through the ski pass (a hallmark of a Luke box). I will post a couple pics showing the box Luke sent me does NOT resemble either of these two boxes. Keep in mind I am talking about the 'forward' protrusions, not the top centered 'bump' upwards (mine has the top bump like the box on the right).

What say you, Luke? If I am such a 'crazy' woman, then why does my box NOT look like either of these two you posted here? Please explain how I messed this up.

I don't understand why steady330 doesn't just file a paypal dispute and get her money that way. Her tone of voice in this thread seems to suggest she is taking a personal vendetta agains Luke, rather than solving the problem the easiest and best way (through paypal).

Also, if I had a horrible experience with a business, I would get my refund and go elsewhere for a subwoofer enclosure. I wouldn't press the point to have another one made from the same guy who I just gave me a hard time. It's like you're setting yourself up for failure. You acknowledge that something bad happened in the past and will likely happen again. THAT is bad business.

I think the issues she's having with sending the product back is this - 1. Why should she have to pay to get the box shipped back to GAS? I deal with this sometimes with vendors, if they are at fault they should send out a shipping label for the cost to get the product returned.

            2. She stated that she was told to "just get rid" of the box that was sent out the first time and incorrect. This is just my understanding, and this is only my two cents which isn't really worth a damn.. At the end of the day I hope this gets resolved and both buyer and seller are happy with the outcome.

Here's the rub: Luke sent the wrong box. He acknowledged he sent the wrong box and told my son to pitch the box in the trash. He further said he would be making/sending the correct box.

Luke didn't make/send the right box. After 3 months we did go to Paypal when Luke quit communicating with us. The moment we went to Paypal, Luke went ballistic and told us to "Send my box back NOW - at your expense."

The problem is Luke told my son to pitch the box. Luke is being coy - he knows it would cost my son a good deal of money to ship that box, and Luke knows it was Luke who sent the wrong box in the first place. Luke doesn't have the courage to make this right. Keep in mind, I'm not the OP of this thread, and there are others on other boards. Luke has a pattern of this (and closing/opening his GAS).

The rest of the story: Luke knows it was Ethan's father who purchased this car for him when he was 16. Ethan's father installed car audio in his younger years and wanted him to have one of Luke's set ups. Ethan began a job at the local county Parks/Rec mowing lawns to save up for the system (amps, auidiocontrol, BSW stage 1 speakers, JL sub, etc.). Meanwhile my husb/Ethan's father became ill and we lost him. In honor of his father, Ethan worked to complete the system - Luke royally scr**## him. Luke knows all of this and promised my son the correct box we ordered in the first place. Luke lied and continues to lie. Luke told my son to pitch the box and it would be just a few weeks to receive the correct box. Luke never sent that correct box and he knows he's putting the screws to my son to ship that heavy box back.

In a fit of stress and anxiety over Luke's behavior, my son took his new in the box JL 5 channel amp and smashed it on the driveway (stomped on it a few times, too). Thanks, Luke. Nice way to push an 18 y/o over the edge. You must be proud. In any event, he'll go on to college/play ball this fall and get on with a new chapter.

Ive waited but now I must say, does screwed really need to be sensored?

First threatening violence with your son, and now his inability to remain calm and resorting to apparently smashing product. Maybe college isn't the right place for him to go, will he survive without mommy handling his business?

Now in my short time of working on and installing parts on cars, I have never done anything without taking pictures. If I got a box I would have been so excited I would have pictures when I got it and when trying to install it. Do you have anything saved to show what your received and how much it was off?

Im no audiophile but it seems like the only fitment issue was it was the sub hole was offcentered. If the rest of the box still fit flush in the trunk I would have just went with it.

My son has had issues since loosing his father - it's a work in progress. He made the team on 1/2 ride, so he has an avenue for his aggression. Yes, he took numerous pics (and provided them to Luke). No, the box does not fit flush in the trunk, particularly against the seats. I'm not fighting his battles, because I paid GAS for the box/rack - so it's my battle. The issue is this box/rack was the central piece to a system my son spent a good deal of money on, from mowing, edging parks, etc. in the hot hot sun. If my portion doesn't come through, his remains in limbo.

It appears Luke isn't without his fan club - it's what he leverages when he wants to screw customers, because they have an endless supply of excuses for him. He sent the wrong box and agreed to make it right, then nearly four months later, quit communicating (we only pinged him on his text once a month), and went back on his word and kept the $375. His fan club gives him the power to be this way.

Think about the ethics of this (put yourself in my shoes).

1.) customer paid $375 for products
                        2.) customer received incorrect products
3.) business accepted responsibility, instructed to pitch bad product
4.) business asserted correct product would be sent, no extra cost
5.) business didn't send product, even after 3+ months
6.) customer attempted charge back through paypal
7.) business gets very angry (curses customer) and demands customer send heavy product back at customers expense

Why should the customer pay $100+ for return shipping? After being told to pitch product?

Still, GAS fans will reply to this from various angles it is somehow the customer's fault. Been there, experienced that. It truly is the GAS fan base that lets Luke pull this kind of unethical and immoral stunt.

                          Did PayPal refund you?

Also, you can't blame Luke for your Son throwing a tantrum and wrecking his personal shit. Let's stay focused here, what Luke does is his responsibility. What you do is your responsibility.

What your Son did to his amp is his responsibility.

So did you, or did you not get money back from PayPal. Luke says you did, but I haven't seen you comment that. I apologize if I missed it.

Paypal agreed to refund, however, they needed proof the product was returned. The problem with this is:

1.) Luke told us to pitch the box (clearly the wrong box)
2.) Luke refused to cover the return shipping (he sent the wrong box)

So, in order to receive the $375 refund, I would need to spend $125 (ish), when it was the entire fault of said vendor (GAS). The bottom line is when a business sends the incorrect product, and they want it back, they should send a pre-paid return label. It's just not right for me to pay $100+ for his mistake.

                            Luke still has the $375.

You've got this wrong. It's still unused and intact, other than mounting the sub on the first day before realizing it was the wrong box.

The fan club is all of the folks who chime in that Luke is a great guy - plenty of those examples on this thread alone, so it's not a stretch to say so and it doesn't make me off my rocker.

My son smashed his amp - bad day for him - he's certainly not the only human being to ever have lost his temper in the history of this world - doesn't make him or me off our proverbial rockers.

Alas, since you are the moderator, I don't know what else to say. Any business that sends the incorrect item and wants it back should send a prepaid label, certainly if the cost would be $125. Saying this doesn't make me off my rocker, either.
