I think it really depends on what you are basing you ranking on..

Alpina/Hartge were manufactures as far as the German gubment was concerned and so they delivered a very complete product. I almost put them at the same level since they both did a lot of the same things back in the day.

Racing Dynamics and ACS did some crazy stuff, but none of their cars seemed as refined as the previously mentioned two.

Some of the same thoughts with others..

          With that in mind:

          1: tie - Alpina/Hartge
          3: Hardy and Beck/Alpina West
          4: ACS
          5: RD
          1991 325i MT2 Touring (JDM bro)
          2016 Ford Flex
          2011 Audi A3 - wife's other German car

I'm pretty sure nobody else had their own serial numbers, right? Also I don't think Zender or Pfeba made anything but cosmetic parts, right?
Because Alpina was a "manufacturer" who took BMW's and made them Alpinas. It makes sense they would have a wider range of parts ie floor mats, door cards, etc. That's why AC Schnitzer is first in my book as a legit tuner. Also because of their involvement in racing.

They were the factory (surrogate) M Team, running BMW Motorsport during the Golden Years of touring car, and therefor the least removed from official development.
