Eye-opening read on the hp/$/craziness of some the CMod club racers

And by craziness I mean a lot of balls. Takes some big ones to drop 20K on an engine knowing theres a million simple things that could go wrong and turn it all into a 50$ pile of scrap. One of the most interesting threads I have read in a long time. Just thought a few here would enjoy. Pages 2-3 esp.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

That is why a Spec series is enticing and much more attainable.

Even the $ that people put into the prepared classes can be incredible.

What the fuck does that have to do with the topic dumbass. I swear every single one of your responses are fucking useless.

True. Although a bit more competitive than CR you dont get the speeds and innovations you do from club racing. If you go in with the mindset of not winning your class nationally but just being competitive with all the class cars, it doesnt have to be super outrageous.

Why don't they use the s50b32? Seems like it would be the same base... They remove teh VANOS system...

Do you have to stay with an engine that was origially in the car?

some do, but i think itll cost a lot more to get >420 hp with an s50b32 than a s54. plus s50b32 parts are harder to find and more expensive than s54 parts right now.

in mod, no, you can swap any bmw motor.

Soooo true. Even if you win, add up the cost to get you there. Makes karting seem so affordable....which in some cases, it isn't :?

I think hes angry cause his cat died or soemthing.

As others have said, sounds like a great way to throw away cash when you could spend a comperable amount and get similar performance from a brand new factory m5 with warranty.

im angry cause youre a moron and feel the need to continually show it in every post you make

the point of this thread is to show some of the cool stuff going on in CR

obviously a lot of money is being spent in order to just win a sticker and a trophy but its called a hobby for a reason. why did you 'throw away your cash' upgrading your car? just so you can take turns on the street a little faster, brake a little better? does that win you any money? no. you do it cause you want to and because its fun for you. this is exactly what these guys are doing, albeit with much larger pockets.

90% of CR cars would run circles around a stock e60 m5

and i thought you were being serious TJ
