Yeah, I live in southern Rhode Island. Where are you in NH? I will be going to the Bav auto show on Oct 1st with the e30 M3 and the e30 M3 vert.

75k for an engine install, some suspension and body work?

I know a shop that will drop a s50 into a e30 for just pennies on the dollar compared to what that guy payed... their link is on my signature.

I saw this car in person at our local CCA clean car contest the year before last. It really is awesome, totally & completely new. Frank Fahey always makes an apperance with some of his nice stuff. He brings an M1, a couple of rare, unique e30 M3s, etc...

I met the owner (Bob Spears) of this M3 cab (we just briefly spoke about the car) he mentioned he was at about $75k all said on money spent with Fahey. Spears seemed like a really nice guy, layed back, had a couple other sweet cars there, too. I got the idea money was absolutely NO object, I'm pretty sure Spears made the bulk of his $$$ as a high level executive at Gateway computer.

Would most of us spend that kind of dough on this conversion, probably not, but it really is an outstanding car.

Did you read what they did to the car? It has many hours of labor into it, it was stripped to a bare shell and was on a frame aligner for countless hours with welded in panels.

He got his 75k worth of man power and upgrades and toys. Plus he's now in a mag for a full feature. I don't think he's overly concerned about the waste of money.

Flaunt it if you got it the saying goes. That car rules, I think I would honestly want that car before an E46 M3 Vert.

I agree with you totally. I'd take that over an E46 M3 as well.

Not a waste if you ask me. Complete custom car practically "brand new" car with ever minor detail resolved and paid attention to. If you got the dough, why not put it into something you love?

This is a wonderful philosophy and one I've tried to take fully to heart. The minor setback I keep running into is that I don't seem to have the money to flaunt (yet, Ed McMahon will call me any day now) but I still believe in putting the money somewhere that I can be proud of. I have a lot of respect for anyone who is willing to put money into a 16 year old car because they love it. Granted that's everyone on this board... ;)
