i dont allow open top beverages either
but in my old jetta p.o.s. i had one of those door hangy things
and it was horrible
i dont see what the big deal is about him posting the gauges, sure it was OT

Well I think the cup holder looks pretty good. It definately looks much better than that flimsy ass thing bavauto sells that hangs off the side of the center console.
Hey guys, I'm the guy who builds the cupholder at the beginning of this thread ...
Since the original design, I've moved the cups out .25 inch, now 2 20oz latte cups fit no problem, without any angling. 12oz. pop cans and 20oz. plastic pop bottles worked no problem even in the original design. Now the driver side will even fit a Super Big Gulp.
on my website the picture of the 'standard' model (no lighter at the top of the page on the right) is the new design. Still looks pretty much the same, just a little more clearance.
I know this thing isn't for everyone, it works great for me, and if you want one, I'll build on for you.
