Need to get an e30 from Sacramento to Seattle

    Hey guys,

I have been getting quotes for towing an e30 from Sacramento to Seattle, and yeah it's not cheap. Does anyone know a cheap and reliable service, open or enclosed, car runs but has a blown head gasket.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you buying it from a "dealer" or private party? Did you pay tax on it already? California has some wonky laws about out of state buyers. You may be best to just suck it up and pay the 700. But make sure that is the TOTAL amount, and that the driver doesn't try to get more on delivery.

$700 is a pretty fair deal. I paid $1000 to get my running/driving M coupe to PDX from PHX. I was happy with it.

700 seems cheap. I once got quotes to get my E30 from Flagstaff to Phoenix (180 miles in total) and it was over 700 dollars.

Needless to say I found another way, but 700 for your journey seems reasonable.

Ok yes I'm gonna go with one of the $700 quotes.

yeah, $700 is not bad. I mean, I doubt you could even do it much cheaper if you flew down and drove it back yourself (unless your time is free or something). Which obviously is not possible with a blown HG.

If you call a towing company you'll get a very different price than if you call an "auto transport" co. I'm not talking about the semis that haul half dozen new cars but rather the HD pickup guys that trailer 3-4 at a time for wreckers and used car lots etc. they're bonded, insured and do it every day ...if you can connect with one.

I have used U-ship twice in the past to move cars. Both were open single trailer. Cost me about $400 each for 275 miles.
