Out of all the e30s i've owned, I've never...

Funny how sometimes you can avoid common issues over and over. I've owned 20ish e30s now and I've never:

    - Had to replace SI board batteries
    - Put one in a ditch/had an accident
    - Lost an IS lip

    How about you guys?

If you know anything about E30s and you break a timing belt, you're a fucking idiot. :p

I think I've done it all, lol. I guess owning the same car this long it makes more sense, some things I've done more than once..

Killed a window motor. All 3 of my coworkers with e30's have broken window motors. I've never had one go bad in 13 years of ownership of 9 e30's.

yeah, I've never seen a failed window motor or regulator on an E30. All of mine are original.

The window switches, however, are total shit..

I had an 88 sedan with 3? broken window regulators. Weird.

                        +1

Also never replaced the reverse light switch which was a "thing" back in the day.
Or maybe ppl. just stopped caring once the e30 got to a certain age.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

I didn't know replacing the reverse switch was a thing. But my MT swap was *only* 13 years ago now. :p

I can check off odometer gears needing replacement and my IS lip falling off. I rolled into a curb just days after I bought my e30. I wanted to check that off the list first. :p

Timing belt and water pump were replaced last year. Cuz screw that mess!

It's not fair. I blew apart my first Rieger lip hitting a giant opossum on an on-ramp at 80mph. The last one got taken out by a giant hole in our horrible city roads.

I've never lost an IS lip though. But I have killed an i lip, just this year, hitting giant chunks of ice.. lol
