I'm almost 5 years into it and I haven't even finished my car yet! that, and with the amount of work I put into the 5 speed swap and motor build, there is no way in HELL anyone but me is driving this thing! I'm sure I'll end up with another DD someday down the road (although right now, I still enjoy driving my E30 every day) but that'll just mean the E30 will turn into a weekend/track car. it's not going anywhere. ;)

and bigD, I will personally NEVER own a monstrosity SUV like that. if I have a wife and she wants one, she can drive it, but you'll never see me in the drivers seat!

Is that like a "if you make this stop God, I'll never drink again" never, or a "there will never be a black president" never? ;)

PERFECTLY stated, and exactly how I feel. I'm not finished with this bitch yet, not by a longshot.

And you've owned a nice clean E36 to compare how many head nods you get? I see E30s a lot more than E36s, no matter where I am.

I'd think Florida would be more like Arizona, many more newer BMWs. In SLO for Bfest weekend I saw E30s everywhere, but I see 20x more E36s every day here. I only see E30s every once in awhile here.

I'll get a nice DD after I think the E30(s) are too much for daily driving, but I'll probably have at least 1 for quite some time.

E36s are waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles machines for sure - girls love them. that said my buddy's E36 328ic is slow and annoying to drive (and the seats are terrible!). girls don't stare at my E30 but if you need a nice car to get girls, you're a loser anyway.

people do ask me all the time if I got a new car - you'd think the fact that it's 16 years old would clue them in. I do see E30s more than E36s, but they're typically total piles of shit. actually, most of the E36s I see are piles of shit too!

I still have my 325is.. you think I'm going to drive the M3 in the winter?

That said, I woudn't mind having something else to replace my 325is to drive daily...

I don't think people are leaving ownership, it's just when you get older, you don't spend as much time on the forums. I think that's the simplest explanation.

Personally speaking, I don't really see any new ideas on the forums, which is why I don't browse as often. That's not a bad thing, it's just expected. I made it through school and still have the e30, so now it's time for to focus on more important things. My e30's future consists of maintenance and track days and that's it. Soon enough I'll pick up some kind of daily driver as well.

I've had my e30 for 7 years, and it's pretty much done. Sure I'll do little things here or there, but for the most part, no more big projects and I can tell you I'll never sell it. The highest offer I've had so far was $20k. For $20k, I couldn't buy anything newer to replace it at its level of performance, so it's a bit pointless for me. So while I'm pretty sure I'll never sell it, I'm sure there is a price I'd sell it for, but it's not predetermined.

Im on my third e30 now and the car still makes me feel the same as when I first saw them new when I was younger. Im in a similar boat to Josh, my cars got a rebuilt title, and more money and effort put into it than I could ever get back. Im keeping it till Im dead and gone more than likely.
