My e30 is a toy now... even though it hasnt been drivin in over a year. I have newer cars but none are as fun to drive or anywhere near as fast and agile. and imho the e30 is far better looking than the e36 and e90 and the e46 just doesnt do it for me(bar the m3).

Oh and by the way all those people who say they want to flip a few e30s... If you find a CLEAN rust free '90-'91 325is black on black. Let me know. i need a 2nd shell

That's fucking funny. Partially because it's probably true, and partially because there's a car audio/"motorsports" shop here in Bend called "Sounds Fast". Whenver we drive by it, my wife says "Sounds Fast..." and I say "but it's not!"

I would rather drive my (now ex) 91 318is over a brand new 06 civic. I wouldnt even think twice.

E30s are becoming VERY special market cars with a HUGE following. I feel very fortunate to own the cars I have...

My recommendation to everyone is to start seriously looking for the cars that you REALLY WANT. If you start looking now, you will increase your chances. the cars arent going to be going down any further in price, or get any easier to find.

(Now if someone would PLEASE just cough up that damn Red/black 95 540 Msport 6 speed, clear title, low miles, fair price. :D)

E36s are nice daily drivers... decent gas mileage, fun to drive, smells good... Just dont expect your "328is" to ever be a desireable "classic".

I feel the same as most of you. I have owned 4 e30's since 2001. After I sold my first one and looked to replace it with something newer, I was disgusted with how plastic and unsafe I felt. Also all the driving was so uninvolved. Strange how a $5k 15 year old car can trump so many rolling off the assembly lines now. Sure enough, after a few months searching and test driving, I started looking for another e30. I was convinced to sell that one, under one condition, that they help me find my next e30. We did, and here it sits with my 4th e30 as well. I may not always have this one that I say I will never sell after the insane amounts of time and money that have been put into it, but we all have our price for them. I just know that I would then buy another e30. So as much as I like to tell myself that I will never sell this one, I might. It would be soon replaced by another e30 that will end up superior to the one prior. Such is the life of an enthusiast and a modder.
