    I have a '97 Landcruiser - 3" lift, 33's Goodyear MT-R's, and lockers. That's the DD.

I've owned my M3 for 2+ years, and I view it as the lifetime hobby car, plus swapping the motor makes it "undesireable" - fine by me - it's mine for life.

No E36 has the timeless appeal of the lines and interior of the E30. It was the last of the "timeless" BMW's IMO.

I would own an E36, but never give up E30 garage space for one.

I've moved on. Just not completely. I've always had and always will have a strong love for old school BMW's. Plus, I've been in the E30 scene in Socal since the late 90's, before most of you could legally drive. I don't plan on leaving the scene.

But my DD 740i Sport is in another league in terms of a car than any E30 ever will be.

And my E36 M3 track car puts a huge smile on my face. It's one of the best all around sports cars ever made, I've said this before and stand by it.

And when I get the itch for old school BMW loving? Well, I do own half an E30 M3........

At this point in time I really don't see myself not owning an E30. My ultimate goal is to own an E30 M3, no doubt about that. It's just not time for that yet. I've only been around for a little over 3 years but shit, I've owned 6 of these things!

Nah he just sits in it with the motor out of the car and makes engine noises with his mouth :D

I've driven a lot of powerful, plush and safe cars, but they don't have the intangible qualities that make the E30 so much dern fun.

A co-worker, we'll call him Pedro, has a 911 Carerra S (993). After cruising to lunch in my car, another co-worker paid me the best compliment ever - he said "you got a car just like Pedro's, but for a fraction of the price"... imagine that, someone compared an E30 to a Porsche!

I don't want to say that I'll never sell my 325, but I will say that my yearnings for an E46 M3 have been replaced by yearnings for a E30 M3...

Ha, I have no room to talk. I used to say I'd never own anything but an e30...then I got an S2000, then an STi (haven't driven the 318 more than around the block in almost 1.5 years), and now I'm back to e30's.

I dunno. I can't speak for everyone, but my main reasons were that I had an e30 for 6 years and I wanted something new. Even though the 318 has been great to me, I wanted something that I wouldn't wrench on - whether it be a project or maintenance. Tested those waters, and they were warm...but expensive. I decided that as much as I love cars, they aren't worth a shit ton of money (at least until I can afford it without thinking about it...and that'll be awhile).

E30's are a lot of car for the money, but they require attention and sacrifices. I think that as one gets older, priorities go elsewhere (plus there is an awful lot less time to devote to such things). You think you're going to like wrenching on e30's for the rest of your life? Everyone moves on eventually.

almost got rid of the e30 for another airbagged truck. Those are where my heart is at, but for amazing handling and a great all around daily driver, the e30 does great. But there is a motor swap in future for the e30 before I get rid of them. I wanna atleast know I've done all I can to one before I'm gonna move onto another challenge.

                                I've owned:

                                '91 mazda Rx7 (sold)
                                '92 Nissan 240sx coupe (sold)
                                '90 Nissan 240sx coupe(currently daily driver while e30 is gettin m50)

I do see myself having another car besides e30,but I'll never leave that sweet chassis.

The only reason for me to ever sell my e30 is upgrading to e30 m3.
I'm always gonna have a e30 chassis in my driveway,no matter what.
