no you don't need to remove the intake manifold. thus the tight spaces. I'd guess a couple hours if you take your time.

First you'll want to remove your fuel pump relay and start the car to run it out of fuel and depressurize the fuel lines. then all you really have to do is take off the valve cover (gives you a bit more room) unbolt the fuel rail, unclip the injector harness and pop out the injectors (gotta yank up on the fuel rail), clean around the area where they go in and then put it back together. there might be other small steps in there but that's most of it. the hardest part is getting the fuel rail/injectors out, since it's so tight in there.

        Hahaha - cool.

How long does it take? I don't have to yank the intake manifold, do I?

Actually it shouldnt take more than 20-30 min tops. Its just 4 10mm bolts and two hose clamps. The easiest way is the remove the regulator and the first two injectors.Unclip the remaining injector harnesses. Then wiggle the rail with remaining injectors toward you on the passenger side by laying it on its side.Oil fill cap might also get in the way so take it off.Its a snap not complicated at all.

        Install is reverse.Very easy.Good luck!

You can get 17#'ers off of a '95 M3 --- they get bigger than that, of course, but I think that's the lowest poundage in an M50 variant - there were varying poundages for each one.

Yes, I believe so. I have some 19# ers from some M50 motor. I got them from Bryson. I have clicking injectors but do not want to up the injectors......so I'll try to get them off my hands and find some cleaned stock ones......

are all of the e36 m50 engines the non-clicking type injectors ?
i would like to get rid of the noise.

Oops. Time to clarify. My injectors are clicking, as are yours, from high-mileage, etc. Clean stock injectors from the E30 or clean E36 injectors will not click.

So NO. Not all E36 injectors will not click......but the clean ones should not.

so just want to make sure, is this a good replacement even if nothing's wrong with the injectors?

reason i ask is because i already plan on taking off the intake manifold to get it powdercoated and i also have a set of e36m3 injectors sitting in my garage.

I plan on doing upgrades down the road - cams etc..nothing too crazy but just wanted your opinion here.

                          thanks
