I rent a garage that realistically holds 3 cars, but has the sq footage of a typical 6 car garage, with ~20 foot ceiling, and it has a basement. I'll post some pics when I'm fnished with a huge shelving project in 2-3 weeks. I'm parting out e30's so me and a buddy I split the garage with are building HUGE shelves to store the parts.

Luckily my Dad got me in the habit of buying and taking care of my tools at a young age so by the time I was old enough to drive I had all the tools I needed, and now have about 2-3 of EVERYTHING. He was a motorhead and knew I would be too.

And I have a 2 car garage at my house.
I'm moving in 3 weeks, but the new house has an even bigger 2 car garage.
But my reiger lip doesn't agree with the sloped sidewalk to pull in.

I don't have a good picture. 24 X 36, lift, tools, air compressor, lights and heat. I'll get a picture up later.

At home in my dumpy garage or at the uber-shop I work at. I'll have to post pics of it. I have four lifts to myself, greatest thing since sliced bread.

I've got my own 1 car garage with grease pit at home, and I rented old butcher shop maintenance facilities with 3 of my friends.

My own garage doesn't have heating, so during winters(they are usually very cold round here) it's useles.

Once I get my finances balanced(unemployed right now) I'll start building new garage to my home, should take 2 cars, have heating, and be high enough so I can install lift.

I usually work on my car on the Hunter allignment lift at the shop I work at.
Once you start using a lift and airtools, it's hard to go back to using a jack and jackstands...

                        My crooked driveway.
Got about 2 jacks, 8 jackstands, most of my needed tools but not a lot of specialty stuff.
Got a 25gal. tank + compressor and basic air tools, still lacking a lot of air stuff.

I really hate working on my driveway, you can't put all 4 tires in the air without the jackstands tipping. Anything especially crazy gets done at my mechanics house with me helping anyway, he only works in a carport but at least it's flat.

Just across the one lane street I live in, eractly where the car is in the pic. :)

I have a socket set and a wrench set, I even use the stock jack, I buy some tools every month.

I just bought a tool that is like a telescopic antenna with a screwdriver handle, on the tip it has a magnet, it's pretty handy to get to bolts and nuts that have fallen in tight places.

How much clearance do you have on the sides of your lift posts?

I have found a low rise two post lift that will fit in my garage based on height, but I am trying to determine if it will fit and not impinge too much on my boss', er wife's side of the garage.
there is plenty clearance in the secong bay, we have two seperate doors though. so it might be different if you only have one door. however we dont have the room to park a car in the second bay because of the three tool boxes, engines, parts, work bench, cabinets in that bay.

we have a high roof, but we still had to cut out the support beams and make our own. also the garge door has to be shut to lift the car up all the way.

There is the shop in the background. 220v, 100amp, 80gal compressor, tig welder, lots of tools but never enough. We need to lift the roof 3ft to fit in our lo pro rotary lift and move some rafters around.

To the right of that is our storage/paint booth area thing.
