it's not a question of reliability. While H4 bulbs are similar, H4 lenses are all different, and the cheap ones might not light up the road as well. -
It really depends on the reflector. If it's all cloudy, don't get them. If it's clean and clear; they'll most likely be just as good as Bosch or Hella. Are the lenses flat or convex?Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

I have had the H4s and I know they are not brighter than my Euros. I dont know about the H1 Cebie lamps though. H4s still have the front blacked out like US lights IIRC.

You do realize that ellipsoids use different mounting than the sealed beams, right? You won't be able to do anything with those ellips if you buy them.Originally posted by DanGillanI PM'd you... ummm....why not just put that money in the bank, because it's obviously not going to get you much.
$40 here, $30 there on bulbs, $20 somewhere else, then another $50....
and you'd be at a set of US ellips on the bay. It is debateable whether or not the US ellipsoid lighting is worse, because of 1 fact: how many people here have US ellips that aren't sand blasted to shit? not me. Granted the ones that you pick up may be in kind of shady condition too, but I'd much rather have them than H4's, or buy H4's and know that later on down the line i'll replace them because I'll want HID's and can't do that w/ reflector housings, and wish I'd just have put that money in the savings account.
naturally, this is just my
coming from a guy who has no car because he sold it to put the money in the bank for a newer/better one.
