closer to 12.1 is best, but 17.5 still doesnt say anything, becuase your AFR changes along with your rpm's and throttle position, what you need to do is get an AFR chart, so we can see where it is rich, and where it is lean. you want to be around 14-12.0:1 but at top end you should be a little richer becuase its easier to go BOOM with a lean mix.

    now post those charts.

You should run different A/F at different loads/rpm's.

It would really be nice if we had a A/F graph!! This can also be where a lot of your power is.

if you are running 17 at idle that is isn't that bad. But if you are running that at WOT up top, it is bad

Idle and steady part throttle you should be around lambda (14) Under acceleration you should go down around 12-13 and WOT should be 12.5 -13.5

First thing is check the fuel pressure regulator, then the fuel filter, and fuel pumps. Then test the injectors, and O2 sensor. make sure you base CO is set.

You have a BIG problem some where, you need to find it or the motor WILL NOT last long.

Almost all dynos will show a crazy max A/F like 17.5, etc... because alot of times the guy who is performing the dyno won't go to WOT until after he hit the button to begin logging the dyno run. Therefore, for a split second, before the A/F was re-ajusting to its WOT settings, it had been lean at part throttle. This will be the leanest the car will go and be recorded as the max A/F reading.

Like already stated, a max A/F number tells nothing, you need to post the A/F graph of the entire dyno run.
