KW 60/40 suspension. back seems high? hope it settles?

I don't post on here much but as a lot of you guys seem to use KW suspension i thought id better as you prob know a bit bout it.

I fitted my KW 60/40 kit on my 318iS. The front has dropped really nicely but the back seems same as standard? I have taken it for a 25mile run(handles brilliantly now).

Some people have said it will take around 200-250 miles normal driving to settle.

is this right? Will it settle?

    I hope so. Rather worried.lol

    any help much appreciated.

    Cheers.

    James.

I like the stance, but yes, going to take a lot more than 25 miles to settle. I would say atleast a couple hundred to see any difference, within 500 miles it should be at its resting place.

you also might have the thicker rear spring pads - there are 2-3 different sizes available. if it doesn't settle enough, you can replace them with thinner pads.

Ahhh, thats a relief. Does it normally look high with these kits? Cant wait for 500 miles time!lol

Oooh, nice one. I never knew about the thicker rear spring pads! Are they the rubber things they rest on? or something else? if it don't settle i will do that.

Thanks very much for the replies.

That looks about right to me. It doesn't take that long for a car to settle, so if you've driven it for a day, that's how it's gonna be.

In my mind, that is how E30's should have come stock. Clean, safe, daily ride height. Looks good!

dang, that's one sharp 318. I'd check into the spring pads, because I've never seen coils settle after 50-100 miles of installation... Either way, I like the foreward rake.

Cheers, it came like that from factory.

It has settled a bit i think tbh. Will take a pic tommorrow.

Think i will get the 5mm spring pad tho aswel.

Starting to like the rake myself a bit. Handles really well now too.

It was suggested me, by someone that had 60/40 drop, to just go with the 60/60. It looks great on the coupe but on a vert it looks like oil pan suicide.

                  That looks good though

I prefer about 30 nitrous bottles and 12 subwoofers, but that is just preference. Kegs work too.

Just remove the spring pads completely. You do not need them.

Looks about right. It won't be drastically lower
when they settle. 60/40 kits are supposed to sit
that way, forward rake. I had the same springs
installed on my e30 and always wished they were 10mm '
lower in the rear to be spot on.

Erik, are you sure you don't need the spring pads?

Yeah, it has settled quite a bit i think, looks better than that photo anyway.

Spring pads are only there to reduce noise and fiddle with ride height. Because the springs are compressed between what is essentially 2 arms, the bases slide back and forth. Push down on the back of the car and you will hear a creaking noise.
