assuming you're talking about full retrofit of AC into an E30 that came without AC. that means HVAC unit, compressor, hoses, wiring, etc. in addition to the bits I mentioned earlier, which you always have to update if you're converting an R12 system to R134a. It is 100% DIYable for a bas@ss dude like you. If you're talking about an E21 with an M10, you can retrofit a 318i AC system.

oh sure you can. condenser, seals, expansion valve, new drier, boom.

What about compressor? These didn't use conventional belt driven compressors did they? Cause if they did i would think the car would of just gotten a regular ac system back then.

Not sure for now just for looks haha. I think most of these would be r12 and not able to switch over to 134a anyways.

Guess I've only seen the later ones in person then. Smaller logo, lighter wood with grain clearly visible. Dude wanted $500

here is a pic i blatantly stole off the internet.

There is supposedly and early and late style. That one is late. Cause of the lighter wood or from info ive been told the late ones had lighter wood.
