they're definitely vinyl if they're original (perforated center section). Same front seats the 318is came with in the US.

and has been beat to death, they're not recaros. they're cool though and worth $$.

thats a lot of cool shit fo sho. however, there are a hell of a lot more z1's here in the usa then 12. also, those seats are indeed NOT recaro. they are oem bmw e30 sport seats. if they are leather, they did not come in that car. if they are plastic, they probably did. i have to agree with gunnar. they are not rare in any way and they are not the seats that came in an e30 m3.

still though, they are worth a few hundred bucks it appears by the pics you posted. this isn't the venue to sell them though. check out the "for sale" thread. that is where to list them.. if you price them correctly, they should sell quick. glws.

Idk man, this guy knows his stuff. Let me put it to you this way: his collection at the shop I went to includes 1 of 12 z1's in the US, 3 Bauer 3 series convertibles, a Bauer 2002, an s14 powered 2002, a supercharged m42 2002, he's got a European e21 323, and two isseta's.

Fair point, and with a 6 button and a manual transmission it's likely to be a 318i.

Ok, the guy that owns the Bmw shop I got it from told me that the heated seats were rare and manufactured by Recaro. Which I would assume they are, considering that they are the same seats that an e30 m3 would have. Just with a different cover.

This is true but 318 cabbies had vertical stitching like the coupes. They only came in vinyl or cloth though.

The rear seat in those pics appears to have been recovered rather oddly. The fronts don't match with the rear or, that is to say, the carpet doesn't match the drapes so to speak.

I think the heated factory recaros are pretty rare. They're going on eBay soon. Actually I've decided to part out the car. I got it for free, and I need the money, so it just makes sense. I hate to see the car go.
