best seats i have had my ass in so far in no particular order for having to drive any sort of distance and be comfy as well as sporty enough

recaro srd (although in some cars when people mount them on the factory sliders they are too high off the floor s14 240sx comes to mind i dont fit vertically at all.. head slams into the roof)

vw corrado power recaros (whats in my corrado.. love these seats mine are black leather tho)

saab 9000 aero (super comfy and have grippy material on the sides to hold you in...)

bmw sports seats (e30 i dont like the seats so much in the newer ones)
i know you have seen e30 ones so no pic

ferrari f355 berlinetta (way comfortable and plenty grippy picture is a spyder but same seats)

and last but not least porsche 924 carrera gt (such a great car... friend of mine has one he imported.. this is his actual interior)

I would love a GB on these. I love my sport seat but the SRD I sat in was perfect for me. It was a hair narrower which is great for my skinny ass. THe more agressive bolsters didnt interfere with entry or movement as much as the Sparcos. The SRDs also had a slightly built up lumbar for more arch but not nearly agressive as the Sparco shell.

The SRDs are by far the best street/track combo seat I have sat in. It is decided, I will buy them and cover them in Alpina cloth.
      Im now E30less.

Don't know if this was mentioned but the SRD's are discontinued and replaced with a similar seat called "speed". It looks just like the SRD but i hear it's a bit taller for taller people and comes in Nylon I believe. I have SRD copies that I'm gettin reupholstered =] and I love them, they're great seats. The leather stock M3 seats are good and comfortable but the leather doesn't hold on to you like cloth/alcantara does.

SRD's are discontinued AFAIK and have been replaced by a new seat that looks very similar.

I don't slide around in my leather M3 sport seats at all... but they fit me perfectly. definetly the best factory seat I've ever been in.

              Identical even.

Yes, Recaro has completely restructed their operations over the past few months.

None of the seats are new. (With the exception of the new SPG Pro-Racer HANS, which coincidentallly is new). All of these seats have been available in Germany for some time.

On the new SPEED seat...it is not a new seat either. It is marketed in Germany as the SR5. In Germany they never had an "SRD". What we have called the SRD is what the Germans have called the SR3 and SR4.

The new SPEED seat is the replacement for the "SRD". In fact it's virtually identical to the SRD=SR4 with the exception of slightly more bolster and the head rest is 2" taller.

Anyway, so why do I know all of this?

Well, here's a pre-press release. In Recaro's reorganization they completely changed the way that they distribute prodcuts in the states.

Before the NA office had 135 dealers across the US and Canada. Now they don't. Well, not directly. Instead of selling to 135 different customers they have created what they call a "satelite partner" essentially a warehouse distributor and there are 8 of these in the States and one in Canada. All of the pre-existing dealers are still authorized dealers, but they do not buy from Recaro any longer, they purchase the seats from the Satelite Partner.

So what's the pre-press release you ask?

Taylor Autosport was invited by Recaro to be the SE/MidAtlantic Satelite! So in continuing good relations with the community, all S14.net participants will receive special pricing on Recaro seats and accessories when purchasing them from Taylor Autosport.

              Cheers,
              Andrew

How much would you pay for a mint M3 black leather interior (front/rear seats only)? Been toying with the idea of selling mine or keep in storage.
