What about for verts? Do people experience more drastic results on the flexy cabrio chassis? The factory hardtop made a world of difference, still could be much stiffer though. Also, do all of these bars bolt up the same, front and rear, for cabrios? Thanks.
guys with modified suspensions, do you run strut bars too

The consensus is that on a vert you should feel a more noticeable difference than a hardtop .
As posted before , for a street car a strut bar, front or rear, is basically a mods list mod .
No rear bar for verts .
And almost no need for a rear bar on a hardtop either .Comment

The nice Mason bar will clear the M42's intake .
For others that will fit you'll be better served by checking out the threads on this subject on m42club .
But I can tell you that the popular Sparco's are not supposed to fit as they come .
Some have notched the bar with good results .
I had custom urethane mounts on my M42 which dropped the engine as low to the rack as it would go and my Sparco cleared .Comment

Oh man, for a daily, urethane mounts are going to be overboard. The nice Mason bar will clear the M42's intake .

That Mason bar is a bit pricey no? Don't the tower braces go for like $150?
I mean, given that its a nice piece, is there anything else thats comparable in quality but a tad less?
I'll ask on the m42club as well :)IG: deniso_nsi Leave me feedback here

Haha , thats what the buyer (pw4prez) of my 318 said . :D
Well ..actually he was like sure hard mounts are nothing ...I can live with that .
But after just 1 short test drive he was like ..."so you think you can still swap in the old mounts?" .
Yes the mason is pricey.
Seriously if you don't auto-x or DE your car then forget about getting a strut bar .
Spend your $$ on smething like a SSK , bigger MC , baided brake lines or clutch stop .
Something that will make a difference from day to day and you will feel it everytime you drive your car .
Hell , how about fixing that ft valance and getting the dents taken out of your fender ? :p
If you, or anybody else, is really set on getting a strut bar ...just buy one of the cheapies on eBay .
They can be had for less than a bill all day long .Comment

I have the Sparco bar. You won't really notice a difference on the street, but they are useful to prevent shock tower sag.sigpicComment

+1, Did notice a few less creaks around a favorite corner with the Sparco bar. Not to say there aren't any left though...-Dave

i have a eurosport sparco copy. Very light weight and strong. I'm not sure about the difference on mu e30 as i installed it the same time i did the suspension. I have a custom stereo encloser that is sandwiched in between the rear shock towers. i have to literally stand on the sides of the shock towers to make the box budge out. i noticed the difference on my mk2 gti. i figure taking into consideration that my gti is 700 lbs less and the shock towers in front are attached to the firewall for extra strength and i noticed a difference that an e30 that has them further forward in the engine bay would benefit more.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
