yeah, just drive the last few remaining rust free ix's into the ground, making the value of mine go up. :p
thinking of selling the IX

$1500-$2k, depending on where you find the parts. you need the 5 speed and tcase (the auto tcase is different, but you can swap internals if you find a cheap burned out 5 speed case). you also need 5 speed clutch and brake pedals (you don't have to change the whole pedal box, and in fact I don't reccomend trying on an airbag car), clutch switches (there are two on an ix), slave and master cylinders, clutch lines, and clutch/flywheel. the ix PP is unique, but the only difference is slightly more clamping force - you could use a sachs 618 pp (heavy duty) instead, but the stock one is fine if you aren't modding the car. everything else (driveshafts etc.) is the same from the automatic.
it might sound expensive, but consider the difficulty and cost of finding a clean rust free 5 speed, and the fact that you already know the issues on the car.Comment

why do you need an engine - did yours blow up? you're not making any sense.Comment

There is nothing wrong with my engine.

Franco... We all get this with our e30s, the sense that we need to get rid of them to buy something cheaper as a baseline and to subsequently really mod out. This theory is rubbish. Keep what you have, drive it like you want (or like you stole it :-) ) and slowly keep modding it to your tastes. Best bet for you would be to search for an IX parts car (5 speed) and do the swap up to the car's standards.... don't get rid of it, you'll just come back on this website bitching about how you miss the car (ask me how i know)
Best of luck.
