Ok, Ok, Ok I will borrow a good camera and see if I can sneak in and take some better pics. It was kinda dark in the shop. My camer takes awful flash pics.
Yea I kind of doubt that myself but that is just what I was told. The car does have a chassis stamp on the door seal on the drivers side. I will try to get a pic next time. I talked to my friend that works there this morning and he told me the owner is from England and brought it with him to the states and that he found the car in Australia some years back. When the car is finished it is supposed to go to a museum ust not sure where.sigpic

Doesn't mean it didn't get a repaint, 19 years is a long time for a racecar :D

1 of 2 I would question.
[quote=e30325ic;911653]
The story is that it was 1 of 2 factoy built race car that one some big races in its day.
It might have been 1 of 2 that were factory built for that race team.

I will try to get some better pics and yes thery are restoring it correctly, The quarters had been damaged a few times and reperied so they wanted it like new. I only reapeted what I was told buy the guy that was working on it. I admit I dont know the full history on the car but was just trying to pass along the excitment I had when I saw the car. The shop that its at is well known for restoring car of this caliber. There were severl older porsches and even an old Ferrari.
Awesome car, go back with a good camera and get a lot more pics. And try to meet the owner, I'd love to see some pics of this car on track. Maybe he'll take you out for a ride in it? You never know.Comment
