      They were?

From the F1-live interview with Heiki:

You will be team mates with Lewis Hamilton – how well do you know Lewis?

"I don’t know Lewis that well but we have spoken on a number of occasions during 2007. From what I have seen and heard he is a nice guy. "

KOv is a easygoing guy, basically the direct opposite of Alfonso. This year will really show if there is favoritism towards lewis.

During last season, the pitlane slut Peter Winsor stuck a mic in Heiki's face to get some comments about Hamilton's progress (I think it was after the race in Dubai) and HK said something along the lines of, "yeah he's a really good driver and we had some good scraps in GP2 but off-track we're mates..." or something to that effect. Probably not the kind of mates that go hang out at a pub and BS, but mutual respect for each other as professional racing drivers. Needless to say, I don't think McLaren will be experiencing the same kind of rift which took place between Lewis and Fred. HK is probably well aware that his role with McLaren for 2008 is to be #2 and help Lewis finish strong in the points.

I'm more interested in BMW. I have a strong feeling that they will be very competitive with Ferrari and Mercedes. Not to mention Nick Heidfeld is one of the few drivers that is very, very capable of driving well with no Traction control.

Out of the three days of testing earlier this month he was 1st in day one. and 1st in the fastest time over all three days :-D

Yeah I agree, the relationship between the 2 McLaren drivers will be much better in 08 then this year!

I'm also anxious to see what BMW can do in 08. They had a strong showing and I think Mclaren will be hurting next year and not able to battle it out for the top spot. I think Ferrari will repeat the constructors championship, McLaren and BMW will be fighting for the #2 spot and Williams and Renault back in #4, and #5.

You guys are dreaming. It'll be awhile before BMW is on the same level as the top two.

And although Kov showed quite some talent last year, I sincerely think Rosberg wouldve been a much better choice for Merc. He was consistently in the top 6 with a car that had virtually no development the entire year.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Mclaren will drop off next seasons. They are trying to appease the FIA by placing themselves under a new harsher restriction which would end their development of the 2008 car ASAP. To me this sounds as if they have found something more severe from the spygate scandal and that they may face exclusion from next season.

Time to bump up the thread with all the testing going on. I'm really hoping what BMW is saying about being ready for the first gp is true, because it looks like Heidfeld is kind of bummed with the car. The top two (Mclaren and Ferrari) look to be on top of things as usual and Kovalainen looks to really be proving himself on the time sheets.

Yes, he will be Sebastian Vettle's team mate and #1 driver for Toro. Which I feel is a mistake, he should be #2 but we'll see I guess.

And I really hope Nick works out his problems with the car. That has me a little worried too.

Honda's F1 looks bad ass in all white. Thank god they ditched that theme from last year.

Looks like they kept the theme, but did a better job on it then last year.

I'm interested in seeing how much the elimination of traction control will have an effect on how teams and drivers progress. BMW has been known for having excelent mechanical grip and it seems this might play to their (and other teams) favor.

Is it too early for preditions?
