It's a long season. Everyone makes mistakes(Kimi Monaco). That one was hard to take as a Lewis fan, but he will bounce back. I think Robert is the best BMW driver, but I kinda would have like to seen Nick get the win. If he won it would have been his first and maybe last. Kubica has many more wins and maybe championships in him.

Watched the Speed rebroadcast today with full drivers interviews. Man did Heidfeld sounds pissed. I think he dosent like the fact that Kubica is doing better than he his despite the fact that he has been with BMW longer [before BMW]

I wonder if we are seeing another Alonso Hamilton struggle.
I hope not because Heidfeld is my favorite driver and Kubica is my second

I don't think Heidfeld will do anything selfish like Alonso, as I really don't think he has to, Heidfeld has been doing better than Kubica until just recently I think it is just a slump in his setup or something, or just the opposite Kubica has finally got used to the car. Either way they are both drivers that from what I have seen are much more down to Earth and friendly than Alonso or Hamilton who both are ultra competitive.
To me Heidfeld is still the better racer than Kubica, though Montreal did a lot to make me like Kubica more. I have always just seen Kubica kinda like Heikki in that he can put down a fast time and get a good track position but isn't really the best at improving on it. Heidfeld can place further back and work his way up as he is much better at over taking and defending his position. Thats what makes me think Heidfeld is the better racer, as I make a distinction between being a good racer(overtaking and defending) and a good driver(good lap times). It is another reason why I don't think Hamilton is as good as the British press makes him out to be because any time he gets back in the field his race just comes apart, where as Kimi or Schumacher(the 2 people he seems to be compared to the most) can just blast through the field and get back into podium contention.
Both Kubica and Hamilton are relatively young drivers though and will hopefully continue to grow. My eye is still on Vettel though heh.

Kubica did exactly what a good race driver does before his last stop. The crew called in to him and asked for another 10 seconds in 8 laps over Heidfeld, and Kubica did just that.
I do agree that Hamilton does not show the ability to come back from an upsetting first stint, Heikki too. I can think of two examples [lewis @ bahrain, heikki @ turkey] where a good driver would of finished well into the points. It could be because of the Mclaren, but i think its more the driver.
Needless to say, with this years Ferrari, MS would of won every race by now.

It seems that LH is still used to the hype that he received through the 2007 season, he is still second in the WDC, but in 2008 alone he has made a series of amateur mistakes that have cost him time (or, as with the Canadian GP, cost him his race.) Personally, I expect to see Heikki rank higher in the WDC at season's end.- Trey

I don't expect Heikki to do better, but I do agree Lewis has been making a lot of mistakes that have cost him. Lewis may still win but I think it will be because of Ferrari having reliability issue or BMW messing up their consistency strategy. I think the main problem for McLaren is that they don't have a racer that can give good feedback on what is wrong with the car in testing other than Pedro De La Rosa, and what may be good for him may not be what Lewis and Heikki like.
Last year they had Alonso, and love him or hate him he can drive a car and give good feedback to the engineers. Hamilton tried to use his own setup's last year and thats when things started to go down hill for him in the WDC. McLaren hasn't won since the days of Mika Hakkinen despite having great talent and I think it is because you have to couple that talent with experience and a great car which includes setup in order to win the WDC.
