M-Tech I vs. M-tech II... which one would you rather have?
If you mean "will the Mtech2 fit on an 84 Euro car" then the answer is no. Not without modification and body work on the bumpers to match the fender arches.
Yes but I mean only the front bumper
What's the biggest diff. between a '85 and a '88 ( in shapes, not the lights and chromework) in front ?
Differance is the size of the cutout area where the bumper goes. The plastic bumpers are thicker and the euro metals are Thin. Hence the differance. The valance is also differant depandant on the bumpers.
i know i will get heavily flamed, but I think i may buy a replica glass mtec II kit. I don't have enough money for a real one. This car is just my daily driver. im hopefully very soon buying a yamaha r6, and I also have a 240z that im doing a full resto and full upgrade on. the back brakes alone cost a crapload, went from crappy drums to brembo 11.5" rotors. mmm. now i need 4 pot calipers up front for it, and i need to start building the motor (2.8 litre inline six, turbocharged).
so i know a guy who's reall good at bodywork (his custom mr2 is siiick) and i want to see if he'll fit the kit for me, then i'm gonna spray the whole car.
to be honest, when i bought my car i didn't intend on doing anything to it. I just wanted to ride my bike, and work on my Z. but, it had an oil pan leak. and needed a headgasket. so since i'd have to like lift the motor up like 3" to get that damn oil pan back on anyway, i figured i'd just replace the motor. and since i had the eta, i wanted more power. m20b25 it is.
the main reason i want the mtec II though is because there's a bit of rust on my drivers side door, right below the molding. so mtec II would cover that, so I can just grind it, fill it and spray it without it needing to be perfect. plus i like the look of mtec II better, it's a little more current. i may get mtec II front, and mtec I sides, and not sure about the rear. who knows, it won't happen till next summer anyway

I voted for M-Tech II for a couple reasons. 1) I have an '89 so that's a no brainer. 2) I've never seen an M-Tech I in person before so I don't know what they really look like.
