What's that motor, an S52 with weird looking covers?
"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Jordan, I think you're wrong. look at the intake manifold, that's definetly not an S52 or S50. the thread greg posted was deleted but this part is left

You might think I'm wrong, but I know you are wrong.
I never said it was a S52 or S50. I explictly said it was a "normal e46 3 series issue engine" It is not a S54. Come on your aren't that stupid are you?

the valve covers could easily be custom made (as most of the project would have to be)
And while they were there, they ditched the individual TB's from the S54 and installed the standard runners off a non-m engine? no. pass the bowl.

actually when I posted you hadn't posted that.. now that I see the E46 M3 up there, I see your point though. I forgot that the E46 came with individual throttle bodies.
even so, I think that proves that it could be done. the motor from the regular E46 is just as complicated as the M3.. of course the question is WHY? an S50 (euro or otherwise) could be built up to plenty of power for a lot less hassle and money..
