i am planning on doing a m50 turbo build. i just cant seem to find out what i really need for it. i do know i want it to be fast and reliable. so i guess its not going to be cheap. thats where selling the dogleg comes in. plus if i do use it in my car i think there is a good chance it will give out. then im screwed. so no matter what its not staying in this car.sigpicComment

i think its pretty funny that you have one in front of your fire place. and it would make for nice conversation. thats one of the reasons why i do want to keep it. and i know for a fact if i do sell it im going to regret it for a long time. im going to want to get at least 2500 if not more for it. too much? oh well for now. ill see if i change my mind later on since i still have a pretty big budget without selling it.sigpicComment

I hate to talk you out of selling it, because I know a ton of people here are interested in buying it, but you are right. My friend at one point had two doglegs and was debating whether he wanted the tranny or the money. He decided that the car he had wasnt worthy of a dogleg, and instead of storing one of them he sold them both. Now he regrets it, and told me that if I ever get rid of mine to contact him.
I've had a lot of interest in mine, but to the general E30 population these transmissions arent worth $2500. I got mine dirt cheap, but I still wouldnt sell it for less than $2500, just because it took ~4 years to track one down and I realize how hard to find they are.
They usually sell for ~$500-$1000 when they pop up on the forums.
And the Alpina knob sounds interesting, post up a pic of that.
I've got an old Porsche knob for mine.Comment
