v8 vs m50

i just finnished swaping a 350 in to my friends 4runner and its open headers. its so loud if you want to tell them somthing you have to shut the truck off. he doesnt need the heater ethier becasue al the heat from the motor just goes inside it is like a sweat box

they are crazy loud, the one my dad threw the blower on today was crazy loud, im gonna sound dampen the shit out of my interior.

i found a small block chevy 400 v8 for $500 :up: and a pretty much complete twin turbo setup for 900.

lol. i hate ebay also, but its there if i want it. even tho i doubt it can do what it says it can. even if it only did 15 psi it would give me better gas mileage and it would sure look and sound like a beast

my car is an 86. on real oem it looks like the mechanisms for the manuel and the power are different.



i have nothing but free time. its goin to save me weight, room, wiring, and all the headaches that come from the electrical problems i have in my car. my windows havnt worked in a couple weeks. its getting to summer now so its almost time that i can do my swap and a bunch of my other e30 projects that i plan on and have started. removing all that extra stuff would help me alot.

...and on that note, there is nothing "budget" about putting a 350 into an E30, unless it is totally a ghetto-rigged-deathtrap. So I think most people would have more respect if you actually showed something you produced, and ran your mouth a little less.

i already have the entire passenger side of my car sound dampened frommy old comp system. if the v8 starts tomorrow ill post pics of the " more do" part.

i dont care about anyones respect. this thread was made by me to discuss a v8 vs an m50. dollar for dollar the v8 is much less expensive then the m50. the v8 already starts off with more hp stock. and the v8 is a much simpler engine. to modify and to work on in general.

everyone on r3v is a bunch of dicks and assholes (me included). almost every thread turns into an argument. thats y i dont post alot of stuff on here. there is a minimal amount of replies and a great amount of hating and bullshitting.

what did i talk largly about ? i dont know much about the chevy motor except its easy/cheap to mod and my dad has a shop that can add whatever to it.

this thread was about a bmw v8 i can get for $108 vs the m50 i already have in my garage. but the bmw v8 got turned down because its not a great motor and its alotof work to mod. so i stuck with the v8 plan but went the simpler route and decided to go with a chevyv8 simply because thats mostly what they work on at my dads shop and i could get some stuff free. one more hater is one more person who will follow my work as its bieng done. so keep the haters coming :up:

Why are you going to go with an engine that you know nothing about? What are you going to do for the transmission? driveshaft? shift linkage? mounts?

If you think that the Chevy V8 is the simpler route, you are delusional. If you think that it is a better route because you can get free stuff, I presume you are also going to have your dad do all of the labor for free too, right? I mean, he IS your dad, he owes you at least that.
