Wow, I understand this is a negative's for cabbies thread, but goddamn! There's a lot of ragtop hate in here. Especially the shit about just them in general to not have a metal roof, and being an 80's yuppie car in particular. Wtf? Perhaps when they were new. I gurafuckingtee you my cabby handles better than some coupes that at least don't have any real suspension work done to them.
Basically, the stereotypical cabby comments are rediculous, and I'm getting sick of them. Give the real downsides and leave it at that.

Yes, I have a lot of negatives-
    Sqeaky
    Noisy
    Cold(er)
Slightly smaller trunk in the front area
    Rear window fogging sucks
Mine has a small leak at the top front corner of the door facing down hill
    Heavier (yeah, barely)

    Positives-
We have a bigger sunroof bitches!

I think half of us non-cabbie drivers would love to find a good clean body without that stupid hole in the roof.

I certainly wouldn't think half. Maybe you don't like yours, but I'd care less if I had a sunroof or not, I'd prefer it if it wasn't all messed up. I was looking for a regular, tin roof 2 door originally. Didn't find one I liked by the time I NEEDED a car.

One of the first images that came to mind was how people used to wear their sweaters over their back with the arms tied in front. Pennie loafers with no socks. haha. I dare someone to show up to a meet like that...80's yuppy style.

I loved mine would I had it... but DO NOT drive through a car wash unless you have the hard top. The soft top is not strong enough to stay down with the high pressure washes. I ended up soaked and unhappy.

At least it was a nice day and I was able to put the top down to dry off.

The side windows need periodic adjustment.

The cowl shake takes some getting used to. I've even had passengers take notice of it.

I chuckled at those that complained their electric tops didn't work - mine always worked just like it was supposed to. Push the button - job done. Ha ha. Until the fateful day a few months ago when - BAM!

Had to buy and install the top motor repair kit from Germany. But now all is well again.

With the top up, I wish for a better radio. But with it down, I don't even bother. Exhaust note from s50 swap is sweet music. More than enough acceleration now too.

Every ride in the cabby ends too soon - even when I'm freezing.

I hardly ride my motorcycle any more because of it. Wish I had a z1 though.

Fuckin A! White slacks, loafers, stupid hat, sweater... oh god. Don't tempt me to make an idiot out of myself for an hour or so when we roll down on the 2nd. My cab is white too, it goes with the "clean" yuppie look..unless I don't wash it. LOL Where's the money pool :P

Damn you! From now on whenever I'm cruising the Cab I'm going to wonder if people are looking at me thinking "there's another yuppie fag stuck in the 80's".

Seriously, I LOVE my Cabrio. It's a fun car all around, and as a bonus the top goes down. I always say that it's my Harley, but in many ways it's better than a bike cause it has tunes, heat and girls like riding in it way more than on the back of a bike.

As far as cowl shake, its a negative, but a stress bar helps big time in that area.

Here's a PDF of the 1988 325iC sales brochure with some pretty good pics and technical information. Also shows what the drivers should look like. Miami Vice comes to mind with some huge Oakley's or equivalents.
