    a pipe is not a breaker bar; these are all breaker bars:

    it's only purpose is to break bolts free (thus the name). it's basically the opposite of a torque wrench (which should never be used to loosen bolts!).

    putting a pipe on the end of a wrench (or breaker bar) is usually referred to as a "cheater pipe". at least you got the description of how it works right!

    remember, lefty loosy righty tighty. some people should not work on their own cars....

      Ok I kept passing over this thread since I thought how damn hard could it be to get a bumper off? Now that it is on the third page I had to open it.

            The ones on my 325 were hex... beats me as to why. All others I've ever seen were Torx.

              I used an Allen key to get my old big bumpers off, And the new ones i was sent were torx
              90 325is
              IE stage 3s and refeshed m20....
