Ya I used latex gloves once and it sucked, from then on no gloves at all. I've got small hands so gloves almost get in the way as they don't fit well.

Screw the EPA. I have man hands, and never use gloves.
Damn right. A number of times I have dipped my hand into a bucket of coolant/oil/tranny fluid to get a dropped part and not even thought twice about it with my watch on and everything. Not to mention sat my head in a puddle or two of the above mixture by accident while crawling around under a car. If you are scared to get a little dirty, then you shouldn't even be near the underside of a car.

I like Simple Green, Brake Parts Cleaner, and the Castrol Purple stuff, but nothing cleans like gasoline. Use a screwdriver to scrape off some of the caked on shit, then use gasoline and a brush...the grime will come right off.

What about Paint thinner? I'd rather use that then gasoline.

just soak it in something for a bit, it can be simple green, paint thinner, gasoline what ever the hell you like than run it to your local car wash, throw in the buck fifty or so in quarters and use the preasure washer to get the crud off. for small parts get a shitty crock pot that you dont use anymore and fill it with coolant heat it up and let parts soak for a few hours, I used to do this with my little glow plug engines when I flew r/c airplanes

Gas and pure superclean, thats what I used when my motor was in pieces.
Man hands take it like nothing, just watch out if you have a cut (man hands shouldn't have cuts either)

No, man hands will have cuts from working on cars. Men will not flinch when gas gets in those cuts.

If you're going to be using gasoline wear some thick gloves. Hydrocarbons, especially any cyclic-unsaturated ones are not nice to your body (read: carcinogens).

Nearly everything is a carcinogen. A little gasoline on the hands is probably less dangerous than smoking a bowl.
