And at the cost of exploiting and potentially destroying one of the last pristine wilderness areas in the world? I am no hippie but Alaska needs to be kept the way it is with very minimal human intervention. I would honestly rather pay higher prices for gas. I am also of the opinion that higher gas prices will eventually lead to better and better alternative fuel and green technologies. Just my opinion.
I just paid...

I dont care if you have to drill though a baby seals head, go get that oil. I am all for keeping wilderness area's that way, but this is a resource that we need, the drilling will have an impact but it wont be long standing, 150 years tops, a blink of an eye in time.
You tree hugger's are the same ones who wont even let loggers cut dead trees out of over grown "protected" forest lands, where the density of trees is 10 times normal and then wonder why when lighting starts a fire it burns hotter than any other forest fire and cant be stopped. The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -Alexis de TocquevilleOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

$3.49 for 87 here.
Its finally now more expensive for me to commute to school than to just live there. Good thing its happening now instead of sooner, because I am done in like 4 days ;)
Can't wait for next year where my only drive will be an 8 mile drive to school twice a day. A tank is gonna last me like a month lolRollin' with a GeistkuchenComment

Same here. I either drive a 13 mpg Denali or a 18 mpg F250 daily... Either one, I just fill them up and keep on going and smile about it. Doesn't bother me one bit to use $200+ a week in gas to drive these vehicles.Comment

^Hot DAMN!! Well I'm glad my e30 doesn't rape me for $200 a week although I drive alot soo it does get up there. Well if you can afford it, more power to you.Originally posted by csermonet47Vlad, you are handling this quite unprofessionally.

Kind of funny, isn't it, the whole notion Henry Ford had that cars should be for the masses (as long as he made masses of money from it) and soon enough it will be once again that only the rich will be able to afford them.
So, now all the people who have bitched the last 40 years about how much we spend on public transportation just might need to eat their words, not to mention out 120 year-old railway system...there are tracks here in Oregon that are 60 (!) years behind in maintenance...
My big question is just WHAT am I gonna do for a living when all is said and done?Comment
