89 M3 springs on my Convertible?

Good idea? bad idea? Won't fit?

Do I have to get a spring compressor to remove/replace the fronts?

I can get them cheap opinions please?

    Thanks!

My cabrio has m3 springs on it. I couldn't tell you too much as to how the ride has changed because they came on the car.

It'll lower it about 1/2 - 3/4" all around. And they're much stiffer than OEM springs.

You need a spring compressor for the front, rear you don't really

My car is pretty hard on bumps.

mph what shocks do you have? for now it will be stock shocks (unless I come up with money from heaven)

                  I ordered the spring compressors.

I'm running E30 M3 springs and KYB shocks on my car. It dropped it about 3/4" all around and gave it a slightly stiffer ride, but not harsh at all. You should get a slightly lower drop given the significant weight difference between the 318ic and the 325ic. The rear springs can be a bitch to get out but the M3 rear springs are simple to put in.

As far as I know, they are the stock shocks.

I don't think they are much stiffer than stock. Especially on a 325i. The extra weight over the front makes the front fill a little undersprung.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

dont m3s and 325i's not even weigh that much different
I thought the m3 would be a lot lighter, but i think last time i checked they were pretty close.

Perhaps you would need the M3 cab springs..... the cabriolet is heavier afterall. With my Eibach Pro Kit there are cabriolet specific springs, which I assume take into account the extra weight of the car as well as how much to drop since they are quite different from hardtops especially in the rear (our cabs are already lower in the rear).

I like the look of the eibach kit. Its not too low, and looks pretty nice. Hopefully ill see fuddys cab at the meet and get to check out in person that suspension setup(eibachs/bilsteins) and see if i like it.
I had thought about M3 springs but i want something more noticable in look and feel.
