Original M1 didn't get to prove itself on the racetrack against others. Interior? Exterior? If the original didn't have BMW emblems, it would go down in history like most other early 80's cars that failed to live up to the hype (and most people would probably call it ugly, if Lambo or Ferrari had built it), just like the M1. The only truly amazing part of the original M1 was the engine and the chassis, but how many people ever got to experience the full throttle of an M1? Exactly.

So congrats to BMW, for bringing a "classic" back and hopefully this one will be able to prove everything that original M1 didn't.
what the HELL are you talking about? im hoping this post is in complete SARCASM, because nothing you said is true in this post of yours.

      motion to ban.

and luke: true nothing is as good as the original, but can you really see putting around in a super car these days with a m30 powering it? lmao

I figured they wouldn't try to bring back the iconic M1 and just do an M series of the new 1 series, yanno 3 series but an M series is an M3.......just a thought. Although the 135i is very badass already.

Read a little about the history of the M1 before you attempt to write something intelligent about it.

I never really did like the looks of the street going version of the original, but the race car with its wide fenders looked really mean. I think the new one is gorgeous in it's own different way.

I like it alot. Attractive lines and a stand-out color. I'm not crazy about the wheels though. And I think the emblem on the back should be in the center. The venetian blinds, and the tiny sideview mirrors are sexy, but I doubt they'll make it to production.

Has anyone seen the new pictures yet?

You can see Italian designing in it. Im liking it. I just wish they did a 700hp Inline 6 in it.

PS. love the wheels. they look so beastly.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

Maybe a version of the 335i motor, but with a big single turbo instead of two small snails.

Word, the wheels are sick. This car has serious potential to be awesome, depending on how a few things are done in the actual production version.
