Not looking for any performance gains just fuel economy.

-Well that’s nice, but unfortunately you will do neither.
-Where will you get the electricity to convert water in to hydrogen and oxygen? From the battery/charging system, I presume. What does this run off of? The engine, via the alternator. This will increase electrical load on the alternator, cause it to drain more energy from the engine, and therefore negate any *possible* gain you might get from the hydrogen injection.

Let me put this into simpler terms.

separating Oxygen and Hydrogen from water by Hydrolysis...that is putting a current through water. You have a cathode and an anode, the water is the electrolyte most of you know what happens. Now you have Oxygen and Hydrogen.

Okay now lets talk energy. It takes MORE energy to separate water into Hydrogen and Oxygen than you can get out of burning Hydrogen...that is what your engine does..its an air pump by combustion.

At the end of the day, you're using gas to electrolize water with some factor of efficiency (most likely a decent to poor one) and in terms dumping that "HHO" gas as people call it (H2,O gas) into your very inefficient engine and here you start a cycle of wasting energy that makes your car less fuel efficient.

from another point of view, your ECU pretty much works off your O2 sensor, most cars will have problems running some dose of this HHO gas, too much and you'll probably stall. there are people that run their cars on water but it is a completely different story and they don't use their car's alternators to generate their fuel; that would defy the first law of thermodynamics.

Yes i understand that bit but at the end of the day will save me money at the pump i don't care if i get a performance drop in the car because i loose some energy i just want fuel econamy?

So at the end of the day im not going to really be saving money that what i want to know.

...you don't understand. you're using gas to electrolyze water. you're decreasing the energy yield of gas.. its like using a heat plate to heat up water in a beaker and dumping the hot water on your heater to keep it hot or to make more heat like people claim.

Yeh I know what you are say it requres more energy to create the gas then it can produce in the engine so ultimatly you are lossing energy.

Which therefore you should not be gaining any fuel economy because the laws of physics will not let you create more energy then you had to start with its just not possable.

Is that what we are trying to get at?

It's the Law.

Thing that gets me is all the money our government has put into Hydrogen powered cars (Fuel Cell etc) and pretty much any junior college physics class could tell you it's impractical to the point of insane.

Yeh i think it was on that doco who killed the electric car where they stated that hydrogen powered cars are there so that people think something is being don't about greener cars but really its a path to no were.

I agree 100% But that is for another thread another day. All ill say is that its f*#ken Sh*t that Australia hasn't got a Nuclear plant yet when we have so much boodly uranium its coming out of our A$$.
