OMG! I brought the new conversion home last night!
I'd be curious to the money spent on a s52 swap. Motor and parts. Install I can figure out and do.. My buddy dropped a s50 in the light weight 2 door 1991 318is and it is an M3 killer.

In the meantime, my wife and I decided to move back to Dallas and I would need a better daily driver. After reading a lot on the boards, I convinced her that the money would be better spent on a S52 conversion than on a Chevy Cobalt.
What a keeper!
What trans and diff did they use for the conversion?
Oh ya... pics. :)

My 82k S52 + 32k transmission + UUC flywheel/clutch/p plate/etc. + OBD1 stuff + odds and ends cost me ~ $4100. I need a driveshaft, so around $5000.
Here are a few shots tonight. Sorry about the quality
It rained up here tonight, so these were all I could get in the garage. Tomorrow, I will take more. I added a couple from the conversion process. Also, I could not wash her from the drive back from Austin, so it looks dirty. (I just got the Zen hood seals that I want to install).

To answer a few questions:
Trans was the original 48k that was mated with the S52 from a 98 M roadster. Diff was a 3.25LSD. Engine+trans was 4k, install and all the parts was another 10k (including suspension, etc).
Needs new rims/tires, but I figure I will wear these out first. I will take more pics tomorrow of inside, and outside. Seats are not sport, but mint with no tears, etc. Dash is crack free and the inside looks like a new car. Anyway, I hope to get together at some Dallas meets.
I don't like TSA. They are stuck up pricks that act put upon, Unless you give them your credit card or something equally as valuable. I had cash in hand for a new N/V M50 after I found my free one was fuxored, But they were such dicks to me I went to Austin VeeDub and was out the door in a few hours...
But sweet! Pics?
Tsa has been good with me Ive bought a few things from them definetly no s52 swap but they were cool especially when I kept calling them with questions about my five speed swap. But does Austin veedub really have e30 parts? Thats like 5 minutes from my house.
That 14k included a lot of extra than just the swap. 2k for suspension (koni, IE, new sways, bushings, etc). It also included install, etc of the body pieces (mtech sides, etc). Also, new brakes, wiring, 5 speed swap for inside. I had over 4 printed pages of parts that were 5k of that total (besides engine).

That's cool, I don't like those guy's. They only care what you have to say if you give them lots of money. Austin Veedub was really cool and really helpful and they are a fucking VW place, And they had no Iidea I had cash for a motor. Nor did TSA, But that's not the point. And yes Austin VeeDub has lots of E30/BMW parts.... Lots. TSA does great work though, I wont argue that.
Your car looks badass mang! Need some new wheels on that thing.
