Who couldn't like a car whose SatNav images/layout was developed by the same people who developed the video game Gran Turismo?

You guys are crazy, the electronics are what make the car so badass and ridiculous! One can't deny that it does things that such a pig of a car should not be able to do.

It's biggest fault is definitely it's weight.

It's a large car, but it can't be that much more than a 997TT in terms of weight. I've never been a fan of most Japanese cars, but this one has certainly changed my mind.

They're much different to see in the flesh. I wasn't totally sold on the styling either until I saw one back in February. Love at first sight.

                  Motivation to finish my degree...

I haven't been this excited about a car in a while. It may not be the prettiest thing from every angle, but it's definitely a performance beast.

New cars just don't get me that excited anymore, which sucks because I'm not that old. Too heavy, too much power for the street (to cope with the weight), uninformative chassis, too many electronics and driver's "aids." Some of the tech that has come along is great, but it seems as though new cars will just continue to get bigger and heavier. The exception may be mercedes, who is saying that it will cut at least 6% (if I remember right) of the weight off of each new model introduced.

I know it is wishful thinking, but I want an e30-sized car with straight bodylines (no swoopy waistline like the 135), modern suspension, a revvy super- or turbocharged 4 banger, and a stick. Naturally, it would have minimal electronics, driver-centric interior, and a curb weight of around 2500 lbs.

Don't know if this is true, but from what I've heard if its modded within the 1st 2 years and or if the gps sees you on a track it voids warranty. And that car has WAY to much electronics to have your warranty voided.

I saw the new GTR.. I thought it was a Mitsu Eclipse with a widebody kit. It doesnt do much for me, just a new age bubble car.

I could honestly give a good god damn if it's a brawler on the track, if it drives like a dream, and jerks you off in the apexes and brings you a sandwich afterward.

It's fucking ugly. It looks like all they did was take a 350Z and add a bunch more angles to it everywhere.

My good friends' ex boss(if that makes sense) is the head of sales at one of the local Infiniti dealerships here so he(my friend) was able to get his hands on one and bring it to our bi-weekly euromeets. I got to fiddle around with it fairly extensively and go for a ride and the only word to describe it is meh.

Sure the electronic gizmos are cool and all, but there just is no excitement to it. It's fast, but it doesn't feel quick. There's no sudden surge of power, so lurch or anything. It's just more of a "look I stomped on the pedal, and now I'm going 100+.....neat."

I'd definitely like to experience one to it's full potential, but I was able to get a pretty good idea of what it is all about.

Pics taken at our meet by one of my friends.

and a car that would put it to shame...996 EVT GT800

and a car I would much rather own...it happens to have a ESS stage 2 CFR500 kit on it.

All in all, GTR is ugly, heavy, and uninspiring.
