Funny...... he spends all this time at the track all hardcore and I handed his ass to him every single time we went Karting. Hardcore track rat with an E36 ///M3 but with stage 2 Supercharger and intercooler kit.

I personally prefer the E36 M3 for a couple reasons. I don't care for the fenders of the E30 M3, and the E36 has a much better rear suspension.

Engines, character and soul, VALUE, BY FAR goes to the E30. S14 rules.

I've driven E36 and E46 ///M3s... both of them angrily. It was heavenly to go 160+ on the autobahn in the E46, and the E36 had a rock hard track suspension... But E36s just suck. Period. No, I'm not going to explain myself, it takes too long.

I've never driven an E30 ///M3, but I would have to say that it is the closest that we are going to ever come to a race car put on the street. I don't want to hear any shit about "well, my E92 ///M3 kicks everyone's ass on the track" or whatever.
Those are NOT homologation specials like the E30 was. The E30 doesn't have any kind of effing nannies, airbags, extra computers or confusing ass acronyms that no one knows the meaning of. The last three generations of ///M3s have been watering down the ///M badge little by little, and it shows. Yes, they have awesome hp numbers, but they HAVE to, look at how fucking heavy they are!

interesting analogy, but its nothing less than someones biased opinion. what is the purpose for releasing the ///M series but to be fun to drive. bottomline. some may think "fun" comes from leather heated seat packages or split exhaust.

I agree that the e36 gets a lot of shit when it doesnt deserve it, and it is a VERY capable car and quick with much more comfort than the ///M3. But From there, to say that the E30 ///m3 is overrated knowing that the people saying that have probably never even seen one in person is bullshit, IMO.

Im more or less, defending the misconceptions with the E30 than saying the E36 is shit, cuz it isnt. Id LOVE one as a daily driver and for a long trip. For the exact reason that it IS more of a compromise and it is less raw. ALso when one says "better" you have to specify in which area. Because different people value different things.

the e36m3 in the states is just a regular e36 with stroked engine and differend bumpers. doesnt even have a real m engine.

I have driven every m3 other than the e30 (ironic i know) and the e36 just doesnt hold mustard compared to the other 2. just feels like a normal car. my 135 feels more like an m car than the e36 m3us.

now the euro e36 with smg.... different story
