Crashed 92 m tech need Insurance help!

I am trying to help a good friend out with his 92 325ic m tech. I do all the work on it for him. He was hit hard in the rear. Insurance wants to give him 2500.00
He cant replace it for that. It was a alpine 105k 5 speed all the options. This is the only picture i have but it was in good condition.
Does anyone know of one for sale or past for sales that he could give them pricing on. Old ads would be great we all know how rare they are.

    TIA Brandon

if that was a real mtech2, you gotta fight the insurance co.
my friend got run off the road by a semi- (freeway) and the cops caught the trucker- even got a video from the semi's backup camera system of him running him out of the lane) and he got 16k for his 84 325e...(8k for the car, and 8k for mental fright- no injuries)

            gotta get a lawyer.
you may pay 33% for a lawyer but you'll get 500%more
start transferring those insurance calls to a lawyers office, and just sit back and wait.

            hope no-one was hurt.
i saw afender-bender today, stopped and gave my # as a witness, but it was 2 old ladies both driving mini-vans..
btw, not to be a vulcher, but is the front fender for sale, (i have the sideskirts already)

NADA is way above the $2500. I know the insurance company is in the business of making money but that is way off.

appraisal!! Dispute the insurance company get the car appraised by an independent appraiser - the insurance company has to agree to it, and they will have to hire their own appraiser (3rd party). the insurance company is using a generic database of cars to come up with your car's value. they probably don't even have an mtech 2 cabby in there, so they're probably basing it off an E36 or and older non-mtech E30.

an appraisal costs about $100 - mine helped me increase the insurance payout from $3000 to $7000 based off of market value and the condition of the car. It also saved me from a salvage title. Previous to that they couldn't find *one* ix to compare to, so they were trying to base my car's value of a high mileage 92 E36 which isn't worth squat, nor is it even close to being the same car. Yeah, NO. My appraiser specialized in finding rare cars which helped, but the insurance company appraiser also agreed that $3000 was far too low.

also, if you don't have a crappy insurance company (IE geico or whatever), they do NOT base their values off of NADA or blue book..

Yeah, the insurance company, especially if it is the insurance from the guilty party, will ALWAYS lowball you just to see if you bite. If it is Farmer's Insurance, good luck. Those guys are complete and total bastards and will go to court over minor stuff just because they can.

I have a good insurance company and they came through for me when I had a very similar accident with my 94 E32. The Farmer's guys wanted it to be fixed, but the frame was bent, and the entire rear end would need replacing (the roof actually had a kink in it). That is a damn hard hit when you consider how big and heavy an E32 is. But my insurance company came in, appraised the car (which was in almost like-new condition), and paid me more than what I paid for the car originally. Then Farmer's had to pay my insurance company and I didn't have to deal with it. (Well, except for the herniated disk I got out of the deal)

                            C'mon guys...

Real M technic cabrio's only came in sterling, macaoblau and brilliantrot.
these were badged "BMW M Technic" and are very rare.

Certain white cabs only had the appearance package w/white rims, interior and were badged "325i." Granted I believe these are worth more than a standard cab but these are not as rare as the "M technic" convertibles.

it doesn't matter. He should be able to get 2-3x as much as the insurance company is offering.
